Hi there I am Bobby and I run a youth football club based in Edinburgh, Scotland we are in one of the most socially deprived areas in Europe and we are finding it very hard to get kit sponsorship to help the kids off the streets.

I wanted to know if there is any company's or websites that are making money on here if they would be interested in some kind of sponsorship.

    Many Thanks

Have you approached your local sports stores? Or contacted the PR people at companies like Nike, Adidas etc? If you can talk on a human to human level with local PR reps from the BIG companies, you might be surprised at the response.

They actually employ people to make Nike etc look good to the community. All you need to do it find the right person to talk to. Sponsoring a "socially deprived youth football club" sounds like exactly the kind of thing they'd be interested in.

Get out there and talk to people face to face.

    :)

What the heck are you talking about? Edinburgh isn't one of the most socially deprived areas in Europe, nevermind even just Scotland.

Approach local shops, businesses, etc. There are loads of places in Edinburgh (it being our capital and all) that i'm sure would be willing to sponsor your team. If they arn't local then it's not really worth people sponsoring you (as the advertising they get isn't worth the amount of money they put into you for kit, etc).

No use sending emails. You need to speak to a human, in the real world. Find out where the local Nike (etc) office is in Scotland, find out who the PR chick is, and make your move.

But first of all you should go and talk to the managers/owners of the biggest sports stores in Edinburgh.

What Kerosene says is 100% true. You shouldn't be asking online, you should be getting out there and practically begging if you are serious. My dad used to be the treasurer of our local youth team a few years back, and he secured a major sponsorship deal with a local sports shop that paid for kit for 5 teams. Also, as well as Nike, McDonalds are trying to sponsor as many youth teams as possible, although be careful as some parents might object to this for obvious reasons. Either way, good luck to you and your team in the coming season ;)

Don't send the mails. Talk to someone from the company.. You will be surprised as to how much exposure they will get from this.
