For me firefox is one can fulfill my expectations for browsing the net. Just browse for fun or in my SEO activities.
IE. and that's because the IE runtimes are already loaded while windows starts up. But still IE is nowhere near FF when all the features are compared.... IE7? ...well just a poor imitation of FF ..
Haven't tried the latest version of IE. So still with firefox. But I will move on with IE as whatever works in IE works will most of the browsers
Firefox destroys I.E. - I don't even know why there's a post. Aside from the speed and functionality, FF is a much smarter browser. It cleans up bad coding and wraps things nicely where I.E. shows every little mistake. Not that there's an excuse for bad coding... And don't even get me started about I.E.'s security flaws. It took another good up-and-coming browser like Firefox to show up on the scene before the folks at Internet Explorer even began addressing these issues, much less fixing them. No matter what happens, I'll always remember back to the time I was drowning in a sea of lame pop-ups... and then Firefox threw me a lifering.
I think that the reason most people probably have IE is because they don't even know about firefox. Your average computer that is a family computer that gets used every now and again is probably used mostly by kids who don't know the difference. If you noticed that most of the people on this thread like firefox, that probably represents the portion of us that are a little more internet savvy.
This depends on what you mean by load time, loading of the program yeah I find IE way quicker than firefox, but for loading actual web pages I find firefox to be quicker. So generally if your planning on using your browser for long periods of times then firefox would be better but if its is just sort stints then IE would be quicker. But as a whole I just prefer firefox anyways, thanks mainly to the add-ons.
Maybe that's because IE comes installed with windows? Firefox loads pages alot faster than IE7 for me. It takes longer to open, but I don't even spend a fraction of the time opening the program compared to using it browsing. IE has nothing on all of the different styles and addons that are available for firefox.
