After a few months of hanging out on here I've realized that there are two types of people on this forum: Those who honestly look for answers and want to make a profit by using CJ.com and simliar programs and then there are vultures who will do anything to deceive the general public and make a cheap buck off of them. I think the moderators should really take care of those who come to this part of the forum to try to sell things like BANS (what do they have to do with CJ.com anyway?), ebooks, or their sexually explicit sites (some of the stats that were posted on here before often came from sexually explicit sites, gambling sites and so on). So, I guess I am calling out to the moderators to take care of those who post bogus messages just to push their sites in the signatures or asking people to PM them for a business advice. The AdSense forum has long ago prohibited links in the signatures and guess what? The vultures have disappeared from their forum. I think if the DIGITALPOINT guys would not allow signatures, the junk posts would go away from this forum in a heatbeat.
You can report people for spam, I do it all the time... you'll see that accounts will get banned. BANS has to do with CJ since the eBay affiliate program used to be run through CJ. The mods/admins never bothered creating an eBay forum after requests, though, so eBay topics still appear in the CJ forum.
This is a good thread. vitalbusiness, I see digitalpoint mods on their toes all the time. Recently I got spam messages from a couple of guys and those messages had all that crap affiliation links "Get Rich in 2 Hours" and all that crap. The next thing, I thought lets report those aceholes. But I was amazed to see those spammers were already banned. DP members are pretty quick in reporting spammers and so are the Mods in banning spammers. Well, thats one good point. I really do see a LOT OF peeps just typing bluntly off the topic posts without caring about the relevancy of a post to a particular thread just to display their signatures. Specially, I hate peeps who are openly saying .. "The thing you are looking for is in my signature. Please follow those links". This is so stupid, begging people to click on their affiliation links. The point is, they are not actually trying to 'help people' finding what they are looking for, instead, they are shamelessly providing false information and asking thread starters to click on their affiliation links and signup with services that 'may not' be so useful. I believe, things are really getting out of control. I'm sure Mods must have noticed such activity wherein, posts were written, threads were replied, questions were answered "JUST TO GET A CLICK ON AFFILIATION LINKS IN SIGNATURES". How many people on DP do really have a website/blog of their own listed in their signature? Hardly a few members 'including me'. 90% people are using just affiliation links. I really don't feel like coming to DP too often, the only reason, everybody is trying to sell something here, very few people are really interested in helping. I have seen people bragging that they are making 1,000,000,000 through CJ and have seen a lot of other BS. People are actually not debating how to make good money, they are actually ranting and bragging and fighting like vultures and then comes the part u suck, u suck .. no, u suck. Well .. anyway, nice community .. keep it up.
hahahahaha i dont know if that was done as a joke by that is such a funny comment to follow the one above. Anyhow some peoples sigs (mine) provide links to services offered on DP that can be useful to most members!
lol .. I guess that guy deleted his post ... Anyway, About links in signatures, I have really stopped pointing my mouse to people's signatures. All of them have those crapy affiliate links in their signatures. Very few people are left displaying their own work/services in their signatures. oh well... anyway, nice community ... Keep it up
Mods cannot just keep looking out for all these types of sites.. i think we should be better in handling htese kinda ppl...its business, we haftu deal wid all this kinda ppl
All they have to do is to prohibit the signatures. I ran a PHPBB forum myself in the past it is just a couple of clicks and no one will be able to add a signature. I tell you the vultures (aka lying, cheating individuals) will go away like they have never even been here without being able to post their nonsensical websites in the sigs.
