Just wondering if anyone knew why credit cards have to be removed quickly when inserted in slots like at gas stations...
hah.. that is probably the oddest question I have seen posted on this forum.. As for an answer I dont think it necessarily has to be removed all that quickly as the ATM machine connected to the card reader will only read the magnetic strip once.. I think when they printed the signs up it was just merely the fact to remind people to not forget their cards and allow for a quick transaction. however I could be wrong so I'd be interested to see if anyone else answers.
Good point, I mean the one about reminding people to take the card. Oddest question? Well, I'll take it as a compliment!
Yeah, but in this case you're supposed to insert and remove quickly, not just remove them, but do it quick! So you're not exactly swiping/sliding the card.
I've noticed this as well, the atm and credit card machines that hold your card til the end of the transaction are becoming more rare.
