Was there an Earth Quake in LA?

My mom just called and said that the earth shook in LA a few moments ago. I see nothing on the major news outlets yet. Anyone have any more info on this?

 

I wouldn't expect an immediate response from the major news people.

 

Yes, approximately 5.8, located 29 miles east of Downtown.

I am on a 5th floor office and it was a substantial rumbling which seemed to last for around 20 seconds. I will post some additional information.

Supposedly is was felt as far away as Santa Barbara, San Diego, and even Las Vegas.

 

Wow, all the way to Las Vegas? Must have been bigger than a 5.8!

Depends on the depth of the quake...not surprised that Vegas folks felt it...but probably not much.

 

There was. Interesting quake... everything seems to be OK though... no damage reported.

 

Thanks GOD that only lasted in quick seconds and no one was harm. And glad it never hit San Diego that much, coz my mom and 2 sisters are living there.
