Angry today! For 2 days, I have have a CTR of 20%. A CTR from my Landing Page to the offer 100% of the time, and a conversion rate of only 10%. I make a dollar, while spending 2. /rant.
Those are really good statistics besides the negative ROI. If your keywords already have a "Great" quality score; then start decreasing your max CPC gradually. Every day decrease it by 15%. If you decrease gradually; then you will maintain your position, while your CPC will be lower. Second of all, presale the offer a bit better on the landing page. So that your conversion rate could be at least 25%. Include testimonials, stories etc; anything that will grow the interest of the visitor.
I am at all great for QS. If I decrease it by 15%, I am almost positive I will be losing positions. (I am #1) I think people below me are bidding up the prices, as my CPC is creping up. I think one of the main reasons why my CTR is high is because I am showing under the "Sponsered Ads" in yellow for all my keywords. and I have already pretty much everything you have listed... I *might* be able to presell it a bit more than it already is. I hope I can turn a profit on this. This is my first real campaign I have. (meaning, it is not shitty at any one point, from keyword to LP)
No, if you decrease it very slowly while you have a "Great" QS; then you shouldn't lose your position; even if you will be bidding less than your lower competitors.
Position number 1 is not always the best position to be in. Usually position 3 is optimal for ROI and volume. Dont be afraid to drop down a position or two to get ROI in the green. Just drop your max CPC 0.01 below your daily average for each keyword until ROI is green and position is optimal for volume
All these things just from your first campaign??? You should be happy because it is not a bad start, just need to find your leaks and to improve your kw list and bids to spend less and perhaps you'll be in break even point. My first campaign has 0 conversions and it is three weeks old...
20% CTR is best but we do business for profit and not for loss. always keep in mind profit word because in bidding/ranking game people forget there real aim.
