I might as well butt in a bit here and clear a few things up . . .

First of all, it's not fair to compare one country against a whole continent.

Secondly, Americans are Europeans. Well, at least most of them are.

Thirdly, how does the above picture in any way represent a comparison between Europe and the USA? I will assume that the poster is just a bit slow in the head.

Fourthly, why didn't you pick an attractive female to compare to Megan Fox? Are you saying that Winehouse is the sexiest female in Europe?

It was a sarcastic satire towards the picture depicting two ladies with their underwear hanging out :) That was before this thread turned so serious.

So, we are back where we started. You make a statement and tell us all it is correct because you made it ;) Gotcha.

Erm... far from it. Against the backdrop of all your other erratic statements, I assume "reigned over" is based on the two appearing in the Wimbledon final? Do a little fact checking, you might be surprised. ;)

This is why I think it's funny when Europeans hurl childish insults at us. We were created by enlightened Europeans who were ready to take human civilization to the next level, and succeeded. Our existance, as it is, is not possible without Europe(especially the UK), just as most of our foibles were not acquired in a vacuum separate from our heritage.

Best not to dignify that with a rational response unless you want to be tarred with the "overwhelming impulse to jab at anything American" brush ;) I think we all see where this is going...

This is a joke, right? Is that the way you see your nation? Do you really think that Americans are better than everyone else?

I'm reporting the results of an unintentional experiment that has been conducted over the past 60 or 70 years in this country. As blacks here were allowed to participate in sports, they became dominant. The arguments to try to restrict the possible explanations of their success such as saying they are "usually better suited to short bursts of strength" have proven to be flawed time and time again. Those arguments have often been used by racists with misplaced pride. To this day some people claim that blacks can't be good quarterbacks because it's a "thinking position". Yet this is proving to be another fallacy. More and more quarterbacks are black and I believe it will reach a point where the number of quarterbacks is proportionate to the numbers in other positions.

So any claims I make are backed by empirical data as opposed to your "short burst" claim. Do you have any evidence to support your "short burst" claim? Perhaps you could postulate that in a parallel universe basketball doesn't require more than "short burts" or that in that universe blacks are not coordinated enough to dribble the ball. Maybe in that universe there's never been a black heavyweight champion, Brits were first on the moon and the US has been annexed by Mexico.
Hmm, but then you'd be charged with the even greater responsibility of actually proving the existance of your alternate universe. Scrap all that I just said, just keep hurling the childish insults instead of providing facts, it will be easier and appear almost as effective to those of your ilk.

    Please enlighten me.

Logic is right. Americans get bashed 99 percent of these types of threads. But you don't see any threads bashing any other countries started by an American. Because it would be stupid to do that. Since America is made up of people from all over the world.

I don't know why everyone always fights I dont see any difference between us. In Europe and America you'll find people that are strong, weak, fat, skinny, ignorant, rich, poor, intelligent, ect. Were the effin same :D

This country was founded by men who's ideals were informed by the "enlightenment" movement in Europe.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Enlightenment

And yes, I think it was a culmination of many of the ideas that were created in Europe. The US colonies gave those men a clean slate to apply those principles.

Do I think we are better? Yes and no. This country is better, but this country was built mainly by Europeans looking to apply new ideals, so to say "we" are better is sort of a fallacy. We are an expansion of Europe.

I always screw up ence and ance. This is surely proof of my inherent stupidity. I should try relying more on my spell checker, that's made my an American company, that runs on American made OS, that runs on an American made computer, before it is sent across the world on an internet backbone that American ingenuity is largely responsible for, so that it will reach its destination in correct grammatical format, which is a board owned by an American.

Umm. And the curve on which all points have a constant sum of distances from two fixed points relates to our conversation exactly how? Eh? EH?!

Ain't dat what an ellipse is, bubba?

So, according to your logic, the USA is better than all other nations because it was built by people who aspired to live by new ideals? Have you even stopped to consider whether these 'ideals' of yours were upheld? And if they were, are you saying that they are completely lacking elsewhere?

LogicFlux, I must laugh at your audacity. To describe the USA as human civilisation operating on a higher level is a reflection of sheer arrogance.

masterful to be honest logic isnt saying America is the best. If you havent notice. I wouldn't doubt 95 percent of europeans on this fourm bash America and they say Europe is the best. And I wouldn't doubt you being one of them. Its really gay and stupid. Were equal.

You obviously didn't read his posts.

That's a bit assumptive and presumptuous. I do no such thing.

    My sentiment exactly! :)
