"This site doesn't work in Opera" - ok, so total and miserable /FAIL/ right out of the gate. That your script keeps trying until you tell opera to stop executing scripts is an even bigger /FAIL/ - especially when there is little or nothing you can do in other browsers opera can't - almost the same WAY as FF. Crappy little fixed width layout, fixed size fonts in a size unusable for large font/120 dpi users (like myself), What appears to be javascripting of things that don't need to be javascripted, rendering bugs in IE 6, script errors in IE7... Yeah, it's pretty bad, and that's before we even get to the code. 37 validation errors in a tranny doctype - you almost have to TRY not to validate at that point. Raw hidden inputs not even inside a form (what the **** are those supposed to do?!?), mixing of HTML3 and HTML4 namespace styles, severe case of classitus/divitus, not a semantic tag to be found anywhere, much less accessable forms, use of 'stupid' elements like entity spaces for no fathomable reason, use of DIV's and SPAN's for what are quite obviously tabular data... The code is a jumbled mess. Proof of that is in the 18k HTML file used to present the 1.5k of data. It is also an EXCELLENT example of what I mean when I talk about AJAX being the new framesets, as the page is throwing scripting at elements that could be generated faster and with less overhead server-side on the page generation.
yep, I get same error "This site doesn't work in Opera". Opera is very popular browser, so fix that asap
wow, great idea, and great looking site. can you share some tech info... how did you do it, programming languages involved ? Flash and PHP Sockets in the backend ? thanks
Thank you for the useful feedback mixed with kind words. We'll do what we can to address the problems you've surfaced.
Hi, I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the technical aspects of the site except that it is built using .NET and flash.
