with bloggers you dont get a backup copy of your data in bloggers. wordpress hosted on your host gives you many features.
Blogger is a great way to get started - what with the free hosting and all - ease of use. But Wordpress is very versatile - and with the right plugins *cough* canvas *cough* you can get the same ease of use as Blogger.

It depends on what you plan to do with your blog. Do you plan on creating a blog for fun or for profit? For me, Blogger is fine for someone who is just interested in creating a personal blog for fun. But, if you are a serious blogger or care to be one, a Wordpress blog at your own domain and hosting is the ultimate blogging platform of choice. As stated, there is so much more you can do with Wordpress using a unlimited resource of plugins - PLUS you have the ability to monetize your Wordpress blog effectively. If you have the money, Wordpress is the way to go!
I recommend wordpress.Its having many options and plugins and its commonly used. But there are many bugs found in WP, which helps hackers.
Both Wordpress for my main site, a blogger blog as a satellite site.. along with a wordpress.com blog and a squidoo lens
If you are brand new to blogging and web design I recommend blogger. But if you have some idea of blogging and maybe of web design you can go with wordpress. Wordpress has add-ons and complex templates that are pretty nice. But for basic blogging, blogger is free and effective. You can also get a domain name linked to your blogger account and you wouldn't need to pay for hosting.
wordpress is the best but you can start with blogger as you need not look for hosting , domain wordpress gives good control to the blog
Wordpress is much better than blogger hands down. If you do decide to get wordpress make sure you host it on your server and not on wordpress.com because that way there no limitations
WORDPRESS self hosted is the best.. it really rocks and it is something like anything.... U can do anything on it lot of free plugin available on WP site u can play with it like u want..
For me if you don't have hosting Blogger is good but if you have your own hosting Wordpress I recommend Wordpress.. Yeah.. WORDPRESS ROCKS
