I can do 40+ at a time but I dont count how many I do in a day. I mostly work out with weights though. Have you tried using the perfect pushup. Its the one that can rotate as you go up and down, I use those and I really like them it really does a lt of muscle targeting. Being used to those really makes regular pushups seem easy. Incorrect, fast twitch type training definitely 'does something' it's also good to change it up from time to time.
