    Note From ShoeMoney:

John Chows blog has been penalized for a long time and my blog has been a pr6 for a LONG time (like 2 years).

Here's another example of why Google is absolutely biased, useless and pageranks (and serps) can be easily manipluated (almost as easy as feedburner stats are manipulated).

JohnChow.com was PR6 a little under a year ago and it has been systematically demoted to a PR3 while Shoemoney.com has risen to a PR6. Both blogs are pandering to the same element, both are little more than prostitution dens wrapped in Wordpress. As far as backlinks go, a Yahoo search shows...

1 - 10 of 126,000 for linkdomain: johnchow. com- site: johnchow. com
1 - 10 of 115,000 for linkdomain: shoemoney. com- site: shoemoney. com

So, JohnChow essentially has 11K more backlinks than shoemonkey. What is the difference here ?? Why is Shoemoney more of an "authority" than JohnChow??

If you look at the Shoemoney article "Google Doesn’t Dig Digg After All", foot fetish blatantly throws 5 (yes, count them 5) dofollow links to Arrington's TechCrunch and CrunchBase. hmmm, shoe is a programmer. He nofollows almost everything else?? Just like Arrington, selective links are followed while others are nofollowed.

Case in point... Techcrunch has been promoting the site Seesmic.com which is a total idiotic startup that is only 1 YEAR OLD yet has a PR7. Why? beacause Arrington is linking to it without nofollow on TC.

This is total biased bull that the majority of webmasters are struggling to honestly build their sites but Google keeps tearing them down, yet Google turns a blind eye to the most obvious, highest paid link sellers.

Why is Text-Link-Ads a PR7 ? I guess it's ok to be a text-link broker but God forbid some poor blogger in the Philippines dares to write a paid post for ReviewMe or sell a link via TNX and they are stripped of their PR and essentially the food off their table.

Time to wake up everybody. If you're a webmaster, it's time to take a stand against Google's oppressive nature and their pagerank system which is turning the internet into a cesspool.

Do you actually read anything more than the last sentence before you hit the reply button? If you had actually read what you replied to you would notice that nowhere did I say that "I" was going to do anything. I humbly suggest you read before hitting the reply button and chirping in with a legendary one-liner.

    ;)

I know somebody would technically refute your post.

Manipulation of SERPs is a possibility. Let's wait for Knol articles, if it beat the Wikipedia entries in the search results in less than a year. That could be it.

How do you thin this could be done?

Also - how can google know who sells text links via TNX?

The reality is...the majority of users will never see PageRank, nor will they even know what it is. It's already been stated in the past that PageRank does not equate to rankings or anything else, just because a site has a higher PR doesn't make it better or anything of that sort, it's purely based upon links (as you've said), and is therefore not really even an accurate or representative of the derived experience from a webpage (usefulness, etc).

I think there may be some relevance though between those who sell links to related sites, and those who do not (as a qualifier for who gets punished). In the case of TC, a new "start-up" is related to their content (and partially a large focus of their blog?). Viagra though? Not so much

And besides -- it's impossible for the people who ARE "webmasters" to take a stand against google, as the majority of them are probably reliant on them. Find some people who just run some 12 year olds running silly geocities site covered in ads (that aren't even theirs), and let them release their wrath upon...Google

    =\

I agree with you, he posts about dinners, and gadgets, and a lot of bullshit + some paid reviews. I don't think that ANY of his followers makes real money from blogs/sites.

Really interesting tread! Thanks for sharing. It also could be that one website has less quality links compared to the other. Either that or Google deemed that many of the links were obtained through illegal means. Who knows?

But one thing is for sure, Google is the main source of traffic and income for many websites. It is not easy nor wise to simple go against them.

I thought Google has a beef with Text-Link-Ads.com? They still don't rank for the term "text link ads" yet.
