Google employes amongst us

It is no surprise as I guess many suspected this before.

Well it's true. A while back I asked for review of a custom website made by a friend for his company. He had like 5 websites each custom made by him (great designer skills). He presented the services his company provided and contact details.

I asked for a review on dp for that site so that others would offer suggestions. Site remained not promoted until this day because of the work with the other sites.

I got a mail today. His website was removed from google index. And it was a quality one to. In any case maybe something wasn't right or who knows, I didn't do a case study on this yet, but this comes to show Google employees are watching everyone so behave at best :p

How does your story prove google employees are among us? I mean it's possible but I doubt it is the best use of googles time to have the Internet police looking around for sites that they can deindex.

Why would they remove it from index if you asked for review ?

If removed maybe there is violation.

Hello Google emplyees. :) Why don't you guys just use your G knowledge to do your own websites rather than working for the big do no evil? I'm sure it's a better life style. :)

I thought something smelled like SELL-OUTS....

I guess all the Googlers are upset that Sergey Brin was quoted on news.com and other sources a few weeks ago as telling several people in a large meeting that he was "Getting f--king tired of people around here thinking they are entitled to free M&Ms and bottled water."

Maybe the Google employees are distressed at their diminishing stock options and think that us evil webmasters are causing Google stock to drop like a rock.

What would be most surprising is if google employees did NOT poke around this forum and others like it. Any company can reasonably be assumed to check on what people are saying about them, particularly when it is to "game the system" in many cases. Google really does want to provide good quality search results, so that people will keep searching on them, so reading DP would be "research".

And to our Google friends - sorry about the free M&M's and soft drinks. It's an inevitable consequence of being a public company, even a company as great as Google.

this is one of the biggest webmaster forums out there so it is pretty much a guarantee that many google employees read this forum

that is why it is so stupid for people to promote things that are designed to get unnatural advantages in the search engines.... if too many people start to use a technique then it is likely that google will adjust the algorithm to put a stop to the advantage

canam, DP is the biggest, baddest and the best webmaster forum. That being said, my gripe with Google is that they are the ones who created the useless system of pagerank based on the university research paper model where a research paper is deemed "authority" when other subsequent research papers cite it.

While this may work in the university research paper environment, on the internet it's a flawed algorithm. The internet is not a collection of thesis and dissertations, the internet is a dynamicly evolving community with a level of diversity as great as mankind has ever known except for the universe itself.

Google's algorithm and pagerank are causing a stranglehold on the most beautiful creative entity ever known to humankind by forcing webmasters to obey guidelines as if they were in some dictatorial university system.

I dropped out of college at 17yo to go play guitar in a punk band at night and work for IBM during the day as a software developer. In Google's universe, I'm not worthy because I don't fit into their model. The problem with trying to model the universe is that you only capture the snapshot you want to present just as the old saying "statistics are only made to prove the point they're trying to make."

Here's a list of my fellow dropouts...

    1) Bill Gates-founder of Microsoft; billionaire
    2) Michael Dell-founder of Dell Computers; billionaire
    3) Steve Jobs-co-founder of Apple Computers; billionaire
    4) Steve Wozniak-co-founder of Apple Computers
    5) David Geffen-co-founder of Dreamworks, SKG
    6) Larry Ellison-founder of the database company Oracle; billionaire
    7) William Hanna-of the cartoon producers Hanna-Barbera
    8) Sheldon Adelson-real estate and casino owner; billionaire
    9) Jack Taylor-Enterprise Rent-A-Car; billionaire

I guess that's a list of PR0 people. Oh, and funniest part, I got accepted to Stanford University but there was no way my father could afford it and he wasn't a professor like Sergy Brin's dad was, so there was no chance for me to get a graduate fellowship from the National Science Foundation.

We all know how this BS works. Like when we're kids in school and they have a candy sale. The kid who's parents sell the candy for them at their office always win the bicycle, the rest of us get doors slammed in our faces for actually trying.

I guess I'm just sick and tired of playing somebody elses game.

Yeah, I agree google employee are amongst us here. After all, it's the best place to catch and penalize people for buying and selling links openly.

So I recommend all to be more careful when selling and/or buying links and when dealing with different tactics not particularly liked by google. Don't give out your link so easily ;)

Sure, but why are they going through my garbage and messing with my brakes? So I stopped using Adwords, big deal

Funny you should mention that you stopped using Adwords. Seems like all my trouble with SERP's etc and Google began when I cancelled my Adwords account and reduced my Adsense ads to 10% of my total inventory.

    Dear Google:

I know you are watching everything I say so I was wondering if you could rank my site a little better than it is. The domain name is googlesucks.com. It appears the domain expired...wait Google has taken it over . OK can you give it back to me please. I promise I will not abuse my number one ranking.

    lol.

    Watch out Google is watching!!

Do you really think Google needs to spy on DP members to ban a site?

    H

Personally I don't think that the problem with that site occurred because some "evil" Google employee wanted to hurt that guy's business.

Btw, I'm pretty sure that many Google employees read this and other webmaster forums, this is a kind of feedback to their work.

Well, DMOZ, Alexa and DP employees are not going to do any wrong, but it is expected that Google employees may take notice of link selling and or other violations.
