That's a pretty open ended question to answer without a bit more information No matter what you invest in, unless it is someone else's work, you'll be having to put some effort into it. a) What would you enjoy working on? b) Do you want to do content creation?, work on art and/or web development?, have an online store to market? Have a niche site to try and market a single or small group of related products? There is a lot to factor in on exactly how to best invest any of your money in an online business. With a few more details everyone here could come up with much better suggestions!
Rubbish mentos . Have you ever heard of bum marketing ? 200 - 300 $$ could be if done correctly 2k to 3k a month . Over time you are right it is not alot of money but it is all in what ya want . What you create . What is needed . How you advertise . My very first business selling domain names i started with 20 dollars . My profit was 50 - 2k+ a sale . Well this was need i mention during the dot com boom . But the same principle still applies today as it did back then . If you have a product like domain names (for example) You could hunt down businesses that fit the profile of the domain and offer them a price . You can do all that for free . The business I have now . I actually started on ebay 2 years ago . Now starting this business actually cost me alot of money . But I know I could have went with traffic resellers and started it under 20 bucks .(i prefered not to go that route) . So since I personally went and paid for advertising space with host to service my pop unders . Also some niche sites . Cool man look for something that looks interesting to you . Than go for it !! start on ebay .You can get a nice cookie cutter website with domain under 200 dollars . I actually did that myself because I did not know html . And the guy had the domain name I wanted . Now once you find one since it is cookie cutter your chances for success are nill .I will not lie . You can only succeed by using a cookie cutter website if you break away from the mold . To do that you have to advertise . Most people who buy a cookie cutter website do not know how to advertise . Check up on bum marketing and that should get you started . Just from those 2 examples you can see that yes you can get started under 200 dolars . Yes you can make a decent amount of profit .
I'm agree with you man about start an online business via eBay. It only requires low setup cost ( even though eBay is free but there are some small fee charges required for adding extra pictures about your picture and etc). BTW if you start an ebay business get a store only 15.00 a month on the low end . Move up as you need.
eBay is good plateform, but now a days many of the BIG player are leaving out eBay. eBay listing has been increased with 12% in 1st qty, but the sale is down 10%. that is very sorry to hear. island-online has gone out of business. His accounts are NARU apart from island-express. It seems he was kicked off the site for low BDR (Buyer Dissatisfaction rate). This is the 3rd large ebay business to fold in as many months. Cofysttore failed in may, sennheiseruk went last month and now this. Seems to be a trend. I have never known so many large businesses to go under as I am seeing at the moment. We offer eBay service from Desiging listing to customer care help desk, and presently we are working with 7 power sellers. But these figures are threat to our business. Now my clients has requested me to low my fee as well. We are also planning to make some chages with our business model. So perform a proper reseach before you initiate at eBay. best of luck

Have you consider doing video in return of $. Like Metacafe. I've seen others making quite well.. I'm doing mine too but still new in this.. But soon enough I'll get my 1st $ from them.. If you know the tricks of the trade, it'll be so easy to make money with them as long as you have a creative mind.. cheers,
Why don't you start a hosting business? Get a reseller plan, make a website and start getting clients. It doesn't require too much investment, and is a profitable business.
Invest $30 for some well known freelance site's Gold/Paid member status to be able to bid constantly, over and over, and hunt for the projects. Once you reach $500, get a landing page for a best affiliate program of your choice and spread it to your contacts made from freelance orders. Ask some other freelancer with 70-100 positive reviews to advertise you via LinkedIn. Once you got +$300, buy some banners or adwords, then.

LOL it's easy, all YOU really need is 100 $ to start, you basically make a website with Google Adsense, you buy spot's on bigger site's that get around 35000 unique's a day, make sure it is legit and they give you the banner spot, just site back and watch traffic come, and make money, it can't just be a website with just ad's dont put money of them just a few and put useful information like stuff you see on wikipedia you will be making Bank in no time !
