I don't even understand why this is still being discussed. XP was released in 2001...Improving on Vista would have been so much quicker if people weren't so reluctant to use it from the start!

I personally haven't come across any problems using Vista.

The only people that complain about vista, are those that bought a computer with pre-loaded vista. They blame its buginess on the OS when really its companies like HP an Dell pre-loading their computers with a ton of stuff slowing it down.

Just bought a new Compaq (HP) laptop and wasn't a big fan of the Vista OS that came preloaded. Honestly, I'm just extremely familiar to XP and don't see a need to change. It works and I like it, that's good enough for me.

Simplicity for the win. XP > Vista, which is why Microsoft is already developing a new windows!

Vista took about a year to steady down. Xp seems better. Visually, I can't see any difference.

well it depends to your storage disk...vista is slow if you install that in a low storage disk..so it will be better to use xp then..

For me, XP is better than Vista. Better software support, better and more familiar interface.

the thing in Vista is that it doesn't allow the softwares to "run wild", that's why some programs crash...because of the programmers that where to sloopy to do their work right.
in XP you can acess internal functions without the user know it, in vista you can't and the program crash.
i use vista ultimate 64bit version, and i must say i never used a so like this, very stable and fast, the only one i can compared it to is ubuntu 64bit version also.
32bit operating sistems will die in a near future because of the increase demands of games and other heavy programs.
you must be thinking "oh 64bits is incompatible with everything", that's wrong, it have a 32bit emulator like xp and vista ( 32bits version ) have a 16 bit emulator, and everything that is 32bits runs very nice, your computer becames a bit faster and you will enjoy working/playing there aswell.

also don't say that vista is worst than xp just because you are using vista home premium...or bussiness edtion, if you want to see some diference you must go with ultimate, the rest are capped versions of vista.

yes...for the tech support xp is better, hell ya...because in xp the program can do whatever it wants, in vista it can't, you have protection layers, the UAC ( user account control ) although it's boring to see that warnings everytime you want to execute something it's very usefull to people that don't know how to use the computer properly, for eg. if you go to a page where's a virus, the uac will ask you if you want to execute him, instead of executing it directly...

about microsoft making another OS.... they are always making another one, when they launched xp they where already making longhorn, an OS take some years to do and crash test it...
