Simple maths question: zero divided by zero ... ?

    :rolleyes: so, we know that everything divided by zero gives an undefined number that some like to term as "infinity".

    we also know that anything divided by itself gives 1.:rolleyes:
    Even infinity divided by infinity would give 1...

    Therefore, these two "rules" seem a bit contradictory if you attempt to divide zero by zero... because then what would it be?




    oh yea, the title says "simple" oh well I lied :p

    That is not defined in mathematics. Strictly speaking, anything divided by zero is not defined either.

    Thats well said..but if i have to answer i will go for Infinity ans..i dont see any logic but thats what i feel:rolleyes:

    Haha yeah well I'd think that zero divided by 0 should be nothing. Intuitively (not mathematically speaking) if you take nothing and try to split it up with nothing, there won't be anything! lolz!

    I have found the answer...

    I took my calculator out and typed zero divided by zero equals what?

    It appears the answer is "E 0".. whatever that means :)
