Achieve high serps without content

Is it possible to achieve high serps without content? I mean not really blank content.

I know it will depend on a few factors like the competition of the targeted keyword, but I was just wondering whether it's possible or not. I know onpage seo can do a lot like title optimization, meta tags optimization, url optimization.

If you have tons of backlinks. Google home page does not have any content as such but ranks No 1 for the most competitive term Google :p and its because of no of people linking to it.

Of course it is possible. Imagine the keyword "matulatismolatica"

When i searched, the serp's result was 0. Right now will be indexed and without any content and any competition, #1 will me this post.

No sorry, there is not shortcut. Text (and links) are the lifeblood of the search engines. Without words bots cannot do their job properly so you won't get high. Of course with metatags and the title attribute you can get indexed, but don't count on good results. Unless a lot people link to you but even than your site has a handicap with text as only cure. So you would probably not get really high unless you really are the owner of a term, like you see with the "flash" sites from movies. But the difference is that this sort of sites have the right domain name and have thousands and thousand of good quality inbound links. And then Google will notice that it must be the official site.

So ask yourself from what is your site the official site. If people also thing that way and link massively to you, you might get far. But if not then don't even think about making such a site.

You will need to add rich information that should includes relevant keywords and should be valuable to users otherwise it won't be rank better in SERPs.

Actually it`s pretty easy. You need domain name that matches your keword or phrase, domain should have some age and few backlinks. Thats all! Works even against high SEO competition.

It maybe possible but Search Engine will not allow this in a long run.. Imagine if you are Google and if a user search for 'Automated Forex Trading', the top results show a blank page with the exact title... I think the search engines are trying their best not to let this happen :)

Well, actually I am not going to use a "blank" page. It's more a page without a lot of content, just some company information and a short summary about the company which contains less than 100 words.

Content is everything. Content is what defines a good website and SERP depends on the keyword inserted in ti. Some people may argue that tons of backlinks will is more important than the content itself but I really don't buy it.

Thanks for the clarification, I should have read your first post closely :p

You can have a high SERP with words less than 100 as long as the search engines think your page has the highest relevancy for the search terms. For example, I could have an About Me that describes me and my interest. Google ranks my page as the first result for KC TAN interest.

Title, META and keyword density is the key here. Of course, you should at least have internal links to this page via appropriate anchor text.

You can obtain high SERP with little to no content for a non competitive keyword.

You will need tons of links to do that.

Many leading sites are able to do it.

They have good SERPs even for pages which have barely one line of content.

...sometimes it is just "there is no information available on this topic"....:D.

Many aged keyword domains rank on Google 1st page and are even No 1 at Yahoo with only few links and single sentence "this domain is for sale...". Not even parked. ;)

It's all about backlinks. There are websites that are all java and they still manage to get number 1 position in the serps.

Does your content need to be on each page? On an e-commerce site with many items can I put content on an article page, section pages or do I need to have the content on every page I want to rank high in the serps. Many of my competitors have less than a sentence or two per page but it is number one in the serps for that keyword? Huh?
