Seventeen low-intensity blasts rocked Ahmedabad on Saturday evening killing 28 people and injuring over 100 others.

The blasts happened in Maninagar, Sarkej, Isanpur, Narol circle, Bapunagar, Hatkeshwar, Sarangpur Bridge, Sarkhej, Odhav, Sardar Patel Market, Civil Hospital, Juhapura, Ambur Tower Building and Raipur.

The first blast took place in Maninagar, which is the Assembly constituency of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. According to initial reports the bomb in Maninagar was planted in a bicycle.

There was a second blast in Maninagar area inside the LG Hospital premises below a red-coloured car, which caught fire. There was another blast in Vadilal Sarabhai Hospital.

There were two blasts in Sarkhej, too. While the first blast took place in an AMTS bus, the other targetted Sangam theatre.

In Bapunagar the blast took place outside the railway station while one of the blast took place inside a bus. The blasts occurred within a span of 70 minutes between 1830 hrs IST and 1940 hrs IST. Some of the bombs were hidden in tiffin boxes.

A black coloured Hero Honda Splendor motorcycle was found abandoned near the blast site in Maninagar.

Ahmedabad railway station has been sealed.

The Intelligence Bureau had received an e-mail from a little known terror group called Indian Mujaheedin about a possible attack, reports Sardesai.

The serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad come just a day after a series of blasts rocked Karanataka capital Bangalore. In Bangalore, too, nine low-intensity blasts had taken place on Friday afternoon killing two people and injuring six others.

I am sure India will be able to absorb these shocks and go on with life. Remember the railway blasts? Indians sure handle it well and this time should be no difference. It is extreme cowardice to use such methods especially when all you are killing are normal civilians, hoping that the culprits will be apprehended soon.

Nothing much gonna happen. They gonna blame Pakistan for that then Pakistan will blame India back.

Oh wait its already started, read an article today in The Daily Jang that Indian RAW have set a group under the former Diplomat (Parkash Kaul, don't remember the name exactly)assign to Paskistan (who was expelled from there due to suspecious activities) for doing terrorist acts in Pakistan to avenge the Indian Embassy blasts in Afghanistan. So if something similar happens in Pakistan you know who to blame ;)

    let the propaganda begin.. :D

hint: and those thousands of students cross Indian border .. and border security force cannot see them because they all wear invisible clothing.

hint2: and no, there is not a single non-Muslim separatist movement in India.

No evidence to suggest that, it may be possible, but India itself has had their own home grown terrorist groups. Too early to put the blame on Pakistan.

There's even Americans in the madrassas. The idea to to introctrinate them and send them back to their home country to spread radical islam.

The Karachi Kids is a great documentary on this.

    Here's a youtube trailer

Saw the video and it just tells me they studies their religion. And now are you paranoid about why they studied their religion or why they got closer to their culture ? did they say they gonna bomb and stuff ? If you do not like it doesn't mean its wrong.

Taliban means teacher. The taliban started their movement in the Pakistani madrassas. A lot of the funding comes from Wahabi donations from Suadi which makes them even more radical.

In a trailer for the documentary, the headmaster of the madrassa states, "We work on altering the mindset of the students we are training, so when they return to their home countries, their mindset is such that they will work on altering the minds of others. More than 100 American children already have graduated from his indoctrination program.

There are nearly 80 other Americans currently at this Jamia Binoria madrassa –that teaches Deobandism – the religion of the Taliban. Read more here

I think they should be banned from returning or going there in the first place. These are potential terrorist breeding grounds. Cut the supply directly at the source and we may see much less terrorism in the future.

The US can't ban them from going there. In any case, you really don't know what they are doing in their home country.

However, the US should revoke their passports and put them on a no fly list.

That's why CIA comes in. Ground intelligence are very important in such countries. I would say that the effectiveness of Israel in fighting terrorism is not just due to its superior military training and powers but also good intelligence which enable it to know who are its enemies and where to find them.

Condolences to the families and victims of the bomb blasts in India, that is so sad.

With the Taliban training our American children in Pakistan, please write to your congressman, if you are a US citizen. Thanks for bringing this up Bogart, as I was unaware. I just spent the last 45 minutes or so reading about the situation, and I wrote to my congressman as well.

It's next to impossible to track the millions of Americans abroad. There are something like 2 million Americans in Mexico alone.

A big problem is birthright citizenship. A child is born in the US to foreign parents and is immediately a US citizen. The issue is that there are a lot of cases that the parents shortly return to their home country and the child remains a US citizen. Sometimes there are generations that have US passports simply because someone in their family was born in the US and maybe lived here 3 or 4 months.

I know a guy that was never in the US and has 4 passports including a US. His father was from Germany and had a Argentine Passport. His mother was from Uruguay. The guy was born in the Panama Canal zone and had all four.

The dvd and more information is available on the official Karachi Kids website
