Bidding directories are JUNK - pure link farms. You can slice and dice it any way you want to be in the end it's still a turd sandwich.

I guess all those people who paid $40 for a link in JoeAnt are going to be seriously pissed at Google. I know I'd be ticked as hell if I had just paid to be included in a "trusted" older directory like JoeAnt. What's even worse is that Google didn't just zero the PR on JoeAnt internal pages, they greybar (de-indexed) them.

You think the geniuses at Google would already realize all the games they've been pulling on webmasters over the last few years is already starting to backfire on them.

Oh well, look for Google's stock to start dropping again....

 

Sweet I can finally confirm the PR update for my site, http://cod4source.com. My main page went from PR0 to PR2 and several of the inner pages went from PR NA to PR 1-2. One inner page that has barely any traffic or links to it got a PR 2, while the inner page I link to a ton stayed at PR 0, weird stuff.

 

Yes, it is fair. PR is Google's game and they make the rules. They don't want people selling PR. So, they have removed it. Oh well. PR should not matter to you anyway. SERPs is what matters.

A lot of pplz were scamming directories just for the sake of PR and google knows all about this. So may be its a positive step o make this a scam free place

Probably because your site is one month old and you havent developed enough backlinks yet.

 

my old blogger blog - which when I didn't even know what PR was - got taken down from 3 to 2 - and I had actually been updating it regularly with quality, relevant content lately :?:

My new flagship site that I have been poring much effort into (new site) got PR3 - as did another, lesser site of mine.

A hunting site went from no PR to PR0 - :?: - actually, I think I know exactly why it got PR0 - I haven't done a lot to add content, but there are quite a few ads on the site

A baby related site went from no PR to PR1 - I've actually worked on that one a bit, but it's my newest site so I'm not terribly disappointed.

Google has a team of engineers that work on the algorithm.

Most people are more interested on how sites are ranked rather than the green in the toolbar.

The PR that is in the toolbar is a snapshot that was taken over a month ago. Probably even before your site existed. The toolbar pr is already out of date.

Google constantly updates internal pr on an almost daily basis. This constant updating is called 'everflux'

You need ro spend more time on link development rather than wasting time worrying about pr.

by consideration of pagerank, i have a blog which have no pagerank initially. Created 2 months back before my website, it now stands a PR1. Though not significant, what can account for the disparity?
