God can create a stone so heavy even he can't lift it ? 1. If God is omnipotent, the He can do anything 2. Therefore, God can create a rock so heavy that he cannot lift it. 3. But if He cannot life it, then He is not omnipotent. 4. Likewise, if He cannot create such a rock, he is not omnipotent. 5. Therefore, God cannot be omnipotent
1 - This thread should be Posted in the Religion & Politics section . 2 - OK , You should know that God is Over your Logic and thinking , so how matter you try to prove his non-existance , you will be always contradicting yourself , and you should be awlways Thankful for creating you the best creation , (complete health / mind / ...ect) .
May the Gods of grammar, spelling, and punctuation have mercy on you! ----- If this thread eventually gets moved to P&R, can we receive infractions for posts made while it was still in General Chat? Can we be punished "ex post facto"?
Here's one that always tripped me. This just applies to Christianity: 1. God knows everything. 2. Therefore, God knows the future. 3. So if God knows the future, he knows the outcome of everything. 4. Therefore, God knows which of us will be going to heaven and which will be going to hell. 5. So then God created some of us knowing in advance that we were destined to burn for eternity in hell.
omnipotent means having all abilities. the word "can" represent the ability. so regardless he "can" or "can...not", as long as there is "can" in the sentences, it means he is still omnipotent? what am i talking about?
Thats some nice logic there. I enjoy logic (meaning what you just did there, philosophical logic). There should be more of it in the world.
hey.. why god in this earth symbolized with man? where we can find the our god? is god like a people? i am very confused
Exactly, if He is the Alpha and the Omega, knowing the beginning from the end, then surely He created all of us knowing the outcome before the start of creation, even though many of us were destined to be born into the future from that time. Even though we did not exist, He knew where our destiny lay since He is Perfect right? Or could it be that God, in his Perfection, to achieve such, Himself has to have knowledge of Good and Evil, although this does not make sense if we are to believe that God alone is the total personification of perfected love. For if He is Love personified, why create a spirit creature that He knew in advance would one day rebel against Himself and everything that He had created? In other words, the maths are flawed. Or could it be that God is just trying to make his way home? Reminds me of that song, what if God was one of us? Just trying to make His way home. The point though is that straightaway the whole God thing the argument is absolutely flawed. Being very heavily into religion myself at one time, before moving on beyond that, one realises that with greater degrees of knowledge that some things even for an all perfected God being, are nigh on impossible, for if the one is true, then the reflected opposite of that which is to be perceived must also hold water - as above, also below. Which half do you see?
