Directories and PageRank Updates

It's that time again - over the past 24 hours another Toolbar-Pagerank export has happened - this time it seems even more directories which I've checked out have dropped in PageRank value. As well as directories dropping in PR, I've not found any which have had their penalties removed (both SERP and PR penalties) - or do you know otherwise? Now, we all have our own thoughts and opinions on the meaning and perks of having PageRank on directories - especially internal category pages. Therefore, I ask, how did you fare this time round?

Updated PageRank Checker is so far the best bet to lookup your newly exported PR.

I noticed (according to that tool) that mine dropped by 1, but that was an expected result due to some recent changes I made in the linking profile.

yeah, the guy got good idea to snap the updated datacenter and use that.

We were tired of waiting long while tools load PR from all DCs. Great tool, indeed.

Selling links can be a major contributing factor for PR drop, but mentioning price on the submission page is meant for ease of use. It wouldn't be fair to drop one's PR just for making things clearer for link submitters. However, I will verify if price mention is a factor, because my yet-to-be-launched directory is that way too.

Well, I haven't noticed any PR change on my directory, partly because it's still a password-protected directory under construction. But all my other sites got PR upgrades. I noticed that this morning. Happy indeed!

 

Yeah, even i had not noticed any pr changes to my sites.

 

yes, page rank and backlinks are updated but my site page rank is not increased only backlinks increased.

 

New PageRank 4 ... is that right? I have a new domain that is only 2 months old...

 

My PR5 directory became PR3. I guess Google penalized me for selling links..

 

if they penalised you it would be pr0 and not ranking for its own domain name (which it does)

 

I'm checking for any official press release from Google. They need to clear this dust about uncertainty they throw us into, if PR will still be taken seriously.

 

I dropped from 5 to 4 on one of my websited and from 4 to 3 to others

 

Mine dropped from PR 4 to PR 2

 

I have checked - some directories and found that few of them indeed have PR till 2nd category ( top-1st-2nd)

3 of them are

dirjournal

greenstalk

avivadirectory

About my performance --

1) PR5 to 4

2) PR4 to 4

3) PR4 to 3

4) PR3 to 3

5) PR2 to 2

6) PR2 to 2

7) PR1 to 1

And 2 of my penalized directories are still penalized. One of them went from PR2 to PR0 and another has always been PR0.

One of my site also has PR on few top categories.

 

kahuki.com and alltaste.com both stayed PR6.
My free directories all dropped again.
