depending on what you are selling, you can try your local bank for a merchant account and then plug it into linkpoint or another gateway.

netbilling.com is another company that assists with merchant accounts and gateways too. there are a bunch...

we used to use linkpoint.com and they had a pretty good service and API.. also in addition to that you will need to get a merchant account with your bank (they place where they actually deposit the money).

The one thing that really bothered me though was there was a lot of paperwork involved and it took weeks to get started.

Personally, I recommend using Authorize.net with a good merchant account provider and Paypal as an alternative payment method.

Authorize.net is the most supported payment gateway with more users than any other, and almost every merchant provider is compatible with it.

It would be helpful to know what products you are selling.

You also may want to read this to get a good understanding of what you'll be getting into: Merchant Accounts 101.

At low cost?! You can´t be serious with this. Fees are much too BIG if you need to process MANY payments by CC

I had the impression that they reduced their fees for high volume accounts?

I'm curious what you consider too big?

I was wonder the impression Paypal's cost was low compared to most, only Google Checkout is cheaper on a per transaction basis. Do they have other fees?
