Can you help me market my music and blog?

Hey There, I have a new blog and music I want to share. I am helping to raise awareness for children and my music is acoustic Folk/Rock. Is there anyone out there can spare some time to help me market and get the word out also how to improve my blog etc. If you can that would be so so great and appreciated. I would prefer to PM or email you the links.

    Thanks,

    Linds_e

I'll be honest here, marketing is a lot of work.

Sure, someone might help you, but at the end you'll have to learn how to do it yourself.

I suggest you create press release and put some free content out there and submit it to digg.com

    Good luck

Try offering a cd for free to some of the music blog owners in exchange for a post reviewing your music. If you can get someone with a popular blg raving about your music that will add both trafic and likely sales.

One possibility is the guy at www.thedigitalguitar.com

    Worth a shot.

Use Goclick and Wordtracker. Get the keywords with Wordtracker, then use them in Goclick. Do not forget to use a good squeeze page to capture your visitors emails. Any question just PM me.

True. Marketing is a lot of work, and you will need to learn to promote yourself.

But first of all, do you have a website promoting your music? If not, I recommend cafepress.com. While they sell, T-shirts and mugs and key chains and all this other merchandise, people do sell their CDs and books. Cafepress will actually create them for you, charge you the base price, but you can mark up the price as high as you like. I think they have a few tutorials to help you market yourself and a widget to add to your myspace page.

Myspace is one of the ways most musicians get their start.

If you are looking for professional help from professional marketers (and they do work), keep in mind you'll have to pay for it. There's a professional social networking site called wowwza.com. It's headed by professional marketers, and they can give you ideas of what to do. Membership is about $32/month though. You should see results.

If you want to try to market yourself, I recommend signing up for a squidoo account and write about your music. Another site to check out is metalabel.com. This is a site for musicians as well.

Yep, it's a good idea if you post a video on you tube especially if the video is interesting.

what work do you need to do? if you have a lot of music to download for free, you can expect relatively many visitors. People like something for free. Which kind of work are you intetrested in? Affiliates? PPC?

Wow! thanks for your replies and great suggestions. There is so much information out there on marketing and I find it a bit overwhealming. I have just finished a video and uploaded it to youtube but I would like to improve the sound quality. For the blog I have joined a couple of traffic building networks. I do get some traffic average 3-6 people per day. I also have google ads.

I will try the press release and digg it. Also contacting music blog owners for a review is an idea, Goclick and Wordtracker, squidoo and wowzza as well.

As for Mr. Bean I emailed him, still waiting to hear back from his people to confirm the duet. lol

Thanks very much vikash.ktr I'll send you the links as I would really appreciate your help and feedback.

I was hoping someone would be able to take a look at where I'm at and what I could do to improve my marketing. Also I would like to have affiliate links and would like to trade links but not sure quite where to find something that is related to my blog.

I offer publicity and marketing advice for independent musicians at www.AudioXposure.com. You'll find a decent amount of background there regarding things you should be doing if you're not already. I also used to work exclusively in music publicity, so it's a subject near and dear to my heart (and now I specialize in online PR, so I can actually tackle both sides of your issue with you). If you have specific questions, I'm happy to help a bit later this week when I'll have some more time.
