Today I noticed my site went from a pr 3 on the home page to a pr2 and on some of the inside pages that were pr5's to pr 4's . Does this mean I did something wrong? or does that happen in updates.

We are picking up about 20 links per week is that too fast?

Are the links you picking relevant to your website? If not relevant the useless and will not help to increase the ranking of your website.

If the links that you're picking up are pointing to the inside pages of your site then that would explain why those pages have a high PR.

I wouldn't worry about picking up 20 links per week - that sounds very good to me... are they natural or are they links that you're submitting yourself?

I'm on a 'traffic is king' trip today so I'm not in favour of too much time spent building PR - if your site is good then people will link to you naturally and your PR will grow. It's virtually impossible to boost your PR artificially so why bother? ;)

I don't think you did anything wrong, if anything you may not be creating enough backlinks. Where possible try to post on do follow blogs and forums like DP or on sites with a similar niche to your own

I'm sure that some of my backlinks are not as relevent as they could be. Even in that case my pr shouldn't go down. If that was the case I can bring down my competition by getting them links to sites that are not relevent.

I have had a site just drop also from 4 to 3 but as nothing was done for a few months I think some links may of gone or been moved deeper inside sites. Not to answer a question with a question, but I think this happened due to some posts on sites and directories which where on the homepage as new submissions and they got crawled in these positions, now they are no longer new submissions or posts on the homepage and the actually link value has dropped causing the page rank to drop, anyone else have this?
