My tax money pays for the government of Israel.

When America has such unending financial and military support for Israel it concerns me. Our foreign policy concerns me.

    You see the difference?

Iran calls the US the Great Satan and threaten us, Israel does not.

    You see the difference?

And why do you think they do that? Do you think it could have something to do with Israel?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm now we are getting to the bottom of this, aren't we?

Like I said what other countries do doesn't concern me, I'm American. Why should our country be so concerned with Israel?

Our foreign policy causes us more harm than good. We need to stop being imperialistic, and acting like the superheros of the world. Our economy wouldn't be in the dumps.

People who blame Jews for Islamic violence astound me.

Theo van Gohn was not Jewish. None of the victims from the dozen or so recent Islamist terrorist bombings in India were Jewish. Pope John Paul II wasn't Jewish. The people of Thailand who are currently being murdered by Islamists are not Jewish.

But somehow, whenever a Muslim murders someone, there is always a Jew to blame.

Will there's no doubt in my mind 9/11 happend because we support Israel.

I've heard one explanation on Fox from a commenter, it was "They hate us because we are free and rich." LOL, please don't tell me this is your reasoning?

At any rate, I never said ALL sources of Islamic terrorism were because of Jews... you have a funny habit of putting words in people's mouths (you would make a good politician btw).

You mean Theo van Gohn the person who insulted Jews, Muslims, and every other religion? Poor guy trash talked himself into his own grave:

You're right, the terrorist bombings in India aren't about Jews. It's about a territorial dispute between India and Pakistan. They have already fought 3 wars over this territory. Nothing new here.

As for Thailand, it also has nothing to do with Jews as well.

It's important to look at the reasons behind all the conflicts individually.

Alternatively, you look at all of them from the perspective of an Islamophobe and decide the entire 1.3 billion strong Islamic religion as a whole is evil.

But they have a word for this in America.

    It's called racism.

9/11 happened because Muhammad commanded Muslims to fight non-Muslims.

This has been exacerbated in recent years by the expansion of communication and transportation networks. Sharon Stone and Osama bin Laden are now, effectively, "neighbors."

Sharon had a lot more to do with motivating the Islamists to attack us on 9/11 that did our support for democracy in Israel.

    Way to blame the victim!

Have you ever been on a jury?

Read the Qua'ran, study the effects of Islam on it's followers. There is no other rational conclusion.

    Islam isn't a race, it's a cult.

Any religion that people are born into or are reigned over by, probably have only 10 to 20% that actually embrace the religious system. I didn't embrace the traditional religious system that I was raised under and neither do most of the Persians and Arabs I meet here in a country that is mostly religiously free. So if you are going to quote something in the billions, qualify it with "living under the system".

What happens in Iran, is up to the Iranians to decide on and implement. It is non of your business to try to force what you believe into others.

Also what happens in Iran doesn't specifically reflect upon Islam, just like what happens in the US doesn't reflect Christianity (eg.: Homosexuality, adultery, etc..).

    Not quite.

Iran is the ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN.

The United States specifically does not claim or try to comport with a particular religious view. In fact, our very Constitution forbids it. So yes, Iran's actions as an Islamic republic do reflect upon Islam.

Further, while I am all for self determination and allowing different states to have their own laws. There are certain minimum rights that people have. One would be the right not to be executed for being homosexual. I am sorry, but one cannot simply turn a blind eye to that sort of universal injustice.

It still doesn't mean it does everything according to Islamic rules.

USA is predominately Christian. Many laws in the USA was because of us being Christians (Homosexuality, Abortion, etc..)

If freedom to live didn't exist in the constitution and somehow a state came with a law to execute Homosexuals, you wouldn't be able to do anything (unless you lived in such states).

Laws are different from country to country. If the majority of Iranians think it is OK to kill Homos, then they have the right to do so. If they don't want to, they can rebel against the government.

I don't accept that premise. If a majority in some country think it is okay to kill all Jews or all Muslims or some other group, that too is not okay. Just because a majority want to do something does not make it right, moral, or otherwise acceptable.

I can think of nothing that requires civilized people to just accept murder of innocents because some ruler thinks their God says it is okay.

It is up to all good people to speak out against such injustice.

There is a big difference when we are talking about sexual acts and when we are talking about ethnicities, religions or races.

Committing Adultery and Homosexuality are all abominations in the eyes of all Abrahamic religions. Being Muslim or a Jew is a different.

The point was that you were justifying murder because a majority thought it was okay. Regardless, your new position has no more merit to justify the killing of homosexuals.

You have no right to kill another human. If you want to subject yourself to certain moral prohibitions, that is fine. Nothing gives you the right to take the life of another because they don't conform to your religious morals.

By the way, I am pretty sure all those religions also consider MURDER an abomination as well.

There is a big difference between killing someone because of their religion and between that who breaks the law.

If there exist a law that says I will be put to death if I am a Homo and I break that law, then it is justifiable. I am not saying that such law is fine, but the action was based on a law.

We have the right to kill people who disboey a law if such law orders it.

That is why in most countries, you get the death penalty for killing someone.

Here in the USA, we kill people because they kill others (yeah I know its a contradiction). Some countries also kill people for drug dealing. Many countries kill people who spy. Some kill those who dis-obey the ruler. Some kill those who commit adultery.

You see the difference, countries kill people because they do X, not because of who they are or what they believe in.

    Peace,

So if some country says it is against the law to follow Islam, and you will be put to death for doing so, and then you break the law and follow Islam, then it is justifiable to kill you?

I certainly don't think so, but apparently you do (you seem to make an exception for religion, but state no basis for it).

I take it you also see no problems in imposing a death penalty and killing people who try to convert from Islam, correct?

It is a bad law. Having said that it gives us or anyone else no reason or justification to do anything other than voicing our opposition. Just like our own death penalty.
