You should get a logo and add some pictures into the body of the page to make the blog look more attractive.
Just make sure the logo suits the colorscheme and overall feel of the blog (the bubbly/glossy web 2.0 look would work well). Very clean looking blog though, nice job.
This just my opinion. (1) Will better if you make balance between 1st column and 2nd column (sidebar). Currently you content (page body much longer than side bar) (2) waste space on footer. You still can use it for links or other things for not seen empty. (3) you use simple layout, that is good for fast load and not make suffer for who access internet from dial up or other slow connection type. That's all, hope useful.
