Complete my SSL Certificate

    Hey there,
I recently put SSL on my order form on my site, as it just seemed like the logical thing to do. I run Firefox 3, and when I click on the little favicon next to my website's URL, I get a message that looks like this:
    -----------------------
    You are connected to
    mysite.com
    which is run by
    (unknown)

    Verified by: Equifax Secure, Inc.
    -----------------------

I don't like the fact that it says that my site is run by (unknown). Does anyone know how I'd replace that with my company name?

    Thanks!

Firstly, contact your SSL provider, Equifax Secure, Inc. and ask them if they can change the "(unknown)" part. If they cannot, go to your host and tell them they need to properly edit that section and fill out a legit name. It's either your hosts fault for not installing it with all instructions in place *forgetting that part* or your SSL certificate is missing its key phrase.

It must be Equifax's issue because I installed the certificate myself according to *their* instructions.

    Thanks for the help!

I did some more research, and figured out it was due to the fact that I don't have an EV certificate. Those cost anywhere from $800-$1200. I think I'll just stick with my $10 cert :).

Yea, it is because it is a normal certificate and not an EV certificate. I think it is pretty strange how the creators of Firefox 3 decided to convey that. You'll notice that if you click the More Information buttons and then View Certificate to view the certificate details, it will the show the company that the certificate was issued to.
