It depends on what you need.. Blogger I think is the best choice since you cannot put adsense on wordpress.
Silveraden, I'm pretty sure you can use adsense on a Wordpress blog, as i have adsense on mine! I've used both Blogger and Wordpress, I'd have to recommend hosting your own blog through Wordpress, seems to be better SEO optimised, plus there are hundreds of different themes and plugins you can use. John
I would prefer wordpress, it is using the popular Wordpress software so it is much familiar to use than Blogger. I find Blogger a bit restrictive, the only advantage being that it can allow Adsense. LiveJournal won't be in my consideration, do not like the look and feel at all.
For as cheap as hosting and domains are, if you are serious about your blog, you are better off with a self-hosted WordPress blog. If you insist on doing a free one. I prefer and use Blogger and I have never had a problem and it is easy to add things quickly. As others have stated, the free blogs at wordpress.com do not allow adsense ads. @wtflolwtf...that is a self hosted blog not a free one on wordpress.com
wtflolwtf seemed more keen on spamming his web design services in his post rather than care about what is being discussed. Frankly speaking this is dangerous and may see him banned after a few such posts.
Wordpress is much better and it ensures you can do everything the way you want, I am talking about self hosted free wordpress Blogger or live journal does not even compare to wordpress MU or self hosted honestly.
You have adsense on your page. . .do you host your blog somewhere else. Wordpress doesn't allow it with normal set up.
How so? I'm giving an example of adsense in use on a wordpress blog.. I don't classify this as spamming, though, I'm sorry if it upset you. Oh, and I didn't know that adsense was only available on self hosted web sites.
use blogger for handwritten blogs and another system for my autopublish blogs which look like blogger & wordpress. i have little experience with wordpress as there seemed to be too many barriers. at least with blogger I know they are going to be around - going to take a lot of push the great google off the planet!
My vote is for Wordpress. I've used it for about 3 years and am very happy with it. Enjoy your day! Terry
you must be kidding right?? have you ever used wordpress for the thread starter..go with WP...it is by far the BEST!!
I think silveraden is talking about the hosted wordpress as provided by wordpress.com which does not allow Adsense. Normal self hosted WP would have no problem integrating Adsense.
The impression I got and I think you and sveraden did too from the op is which free blog service to use. The responds from many others are not comparing the services but they are comparing the Word Press software to the service of blogger. I am thinking people need to read a little more careful. The OP asked about the two services. A software is not considered a service, WordPress.com is the service version of wordpress because they offer a free service.
Self hosted Wordpress. I'm not experienced with many of the other blogging platforms, but most bloggers of note use Wordpress, and it CERTAINLY beats Blogspot hands down. Blogspot thoroughly sucks.
