Dealing with False Advertising

I've got a bunch of competitors who false advertise their products and services most of the time. They're big companies and have large budgets in adwords, and their ads have higher postions than mine too.
my problem is, I don't want to false advertise but on the other hand i'm afraid the potential buyers won't click my ads and my competitors receive way greater traffics than i do. should i go after my competitors or just stay where i am? I DO NOT LIKE TO FOOL PEOPLE AROUND. :(

can you give an example of how they are falsely advertising? It's against Adwords TOS, but it has to be something concrete i.e. advertising something for "Free", and then actually charging for it.

If it's something subjective i.e. they advertise the "lowest price", and you actually have a lower price... that's okay.. They can have a disclaimer on the page stating "lowest price of major chains" or "lowest priced authorized dealer" etc. It's all about interpretation.

for example, one product they sell at $25-30 but in the ad copy they would put something like $1 dollar for this product blabla. i'm doing a virtual business where people pay great attention to the delivery lead time. my competitors always false advertise that they could deliver less than 5 minutes or so which they couldn't. most of them don't stock products but they advertise that they have got plenty of the products in stock.

    unfortunately that's all subjective...

    1) As for the $1 ad, I'm sure they have some disclaimer on the site that it's a trial, or for a day/month etc. If it's a product people are searching to buy outright, they aren't going to trick anyone into paying $30 if the person expected to pay $1 and actually own it.

    2) That's burden of proof.. they can have a disclaimer "email times can vary depending on server load" etc.

    3) It doesn't matter if they physically stock it or not... if they have access to it, they are allowed to say it's in stock. Even if they are out of stock.. it's still a burden of proof issue.

None of these are worth your time complaining to Google.

Thanks for your comment but to correct i'm not complaining. There's no sign on the website for the $1 or $0.0001 like it's a trial or something.

i was just trying to ask if i could write the same copy for my ad and i think i have got the answer .

It's best to have the ad copy match what's on your landing pages. If you trick them into visiting your site, they may bounce.

I think if you give false advertisement you will land finaly to failure even it looks initially beneficial

thanks a lot ppl. i know it will end up hurting my business (at least my site's reputation) so i'm starting making my ad copy in correspondence to my compepitors', like telling people what they saw may not be true or too good to be true, or something like this while advertising my website. Do you think this will work for me with a cpc of $2? is it worth doing it?
