I'm not sure where your ad is and how you're tracking it...but an impression in online marketing is when 1000 people view your ad (they don't click on it)...so maybe you have 1000 people who have viewed it and only 27 clicks. Hope this helps...
Maybe that how your affiliate program tracks or its a bit broken, but any affiliate program I've been with 1 impression = 1 view of the ad.... I think you might be getting mixed up with CPM (Cost Per Mille)
Yeah, I am referring to CPM...everywhere i worked CPM is call cost per impression... maybe its not the same as what you guys are referring to, if so then my mistake. In my program our software tracks visits to my site (clicks)...my affiliates are paid on sales.
Is this a CPA network (like Azoogle, COPEAC, etc)? I've had 500 clicks w/ no impressions, it just happens if you have them click the link directly - aka no banners, etc.
i just want to piggyback what resaik king has said, it is very possible you get more clicks and less impression or even no impression at all by directly click your affliate link. And it is actually a good idea to do that to test if the link works for example and/or if the subid you set up is also correctly recorded. hope that helps
How about this, let me ask you this.. Are you promoting contextual or banner? Contextual will not show impressions.
with MIVA (cpc adnetwork) i got +- the same problem like lots of clicks and no impressions, must be some kind of trouble with the traffic data...
