How can I translate my pages into different languages

I would like to target European audience.

Hence I have decided to translate my pages into different European languages.

Here is the example: http://www.asotn.com/ (Look at Flags in Left Side)

I would like to do it in the same way as this website did it.

How it can be possible?

Also tell me whether it will be harmful or beneficial from SEO Point of View?

I tried this on a site a couple of years ago that was eventually removed from Google. Google will index the translated pages but I think it is more harmful for your site than beneficial. I could be wrong but I think they would see these pages as "doorway pages."

You can do this a product like WebsitesTranslator. Just Google search it.

 

The translation tool is not as exact as the native language, you'd better find a expert translator to finish your job.

 

I also noticed that google translator tool cannot translate exactly. So better to use the profession translator tool. It is not free. Search best translator tool and use it on your website.

Seriously: Drop that idea immediatly. I am german and I can tell you, the output from any automatic translation tool is always utter crap (not to mention, that those "suggest a better translation" bubbles are utmost annoying). Usually you are barely able to even get an idea of what the original text meant and this is most certainly not beneficial in terms of gaining visitors.

 

True, for most of the languages, but I've found it quite useful when adsense is added to the site, the visitor gets so annoyed at the lousy translation, they click on my adsense ads hoping to find a site in their own language.

it's always a problem when trying to set up different sites with the same content in multiple languages. I agree that translation tools are not as accurate as humna version translation, but I don't know any other way around the duplicate content rule

 

Pre-programmed codes can never translate the actual version of the story as it is.

 

Automatic translation is rubbish, and I can't see that changing in the next few years.

 

I would agree that pages generated using machine translation are no where near as accurate as a "hand" translation by a native speaker of the language. However, my own experience from an SEO with Google Translate (which I use to auto-translate my site into 30-or-so foreign languages) has been positive.

After two weeks, my number of indexed pages in Google jumped from about 300 to over 3,000. Over the subsequent two months, many of my translated pages have started to show Page Rank. While my translated pages get only a small fraction of the traffic to my main page, the large volume of indexed pages has helped tremendously in "Long Tail" SEO optimization.

From a user-experience perspective, my translated pages are not quite as effective as they would be if they had been hand-translated. However, my own experience is that the "pluses" outweight the "minuses" (although this will depend on the subject matter -- certainly do not attempt this if your site topic is fine English literature!!!)
