I put together the site http://fuckgodaddy.me. There are many things about the company that I just could not take it anymore. In the end the only thing I want are a few domain names... If GoDaddy does not like the site they could a. Buy the domain name b. Grant me the domains that I bought (wishful, but not probable.) c. Ignore it. Hey, politicians have to dodge bullets all the time d. No, they can't sue me as satire and free speech is legal I will be waiting till some auctions are over for some domains that I want so I could go snatch up the winning bidder and hope they will sell it. Peace
It's pretty obvious if you read the site and look at the screen caps. Many people were upset as is since their wonderful .me domain name that they supposedly owned was nothing but a technical glitch after all.
LOL ! thats true! anyway,to the op, what you will do with this domain? a anti-godaddy site hosted on godaddy? lol
Dude they'll prob just take you to court and you'll lose because you have their trademarked name in the domain name and then you'll end up in the hole after you pay your lawyer.
GoDaddy is an awful registrar. It advertises well which is the sole cause of its success. Namecheap is better and name.com is best.
Yep, GoDaddy is awful. Domaincentral.com has .com domains for $5. Beat that Daddy! As for legal issues it works like this: If I were to make a domain name such as godaddytips.com and advertise my brands and services, then that would be illegal as your using their trademark to make your own profits. If however, it is a domain like fuckgodaddy.me and you are using the site to criticize the company because you had some unpleasant experiences, then you are protected under law by the First Amendment. Take PayPalSucks.com for instance. It is still running strong today and Forbes Magazine even featured the site as one of the best critical sites against a corp. PayPal sure does not like it when you do a Google search on "PayPal" and Paypalsucks.com comes in on the top 10! Take that you big greedy corporations!
Way to waste $40!? Between waiting for their laggy servers to load, sending them support emails, and speaking to them on the phone, they wasted about three hours of my time. According to a new national US survey, Americans say they would rather have more time than money and godad just failed in that department.
At this point of time, I don't think they will take you to court unless they want to generate negative publicity. If your site gets really popular, then maybe...
Has everybody already gotten their refunds? I am still waiting on mine and it has been almost a week.
