please tell me if you prefer Vista to XP, and WHY.... I have not heard any one making any positive comments about this far too heavy monster of an OS....
WHY or why do we keep making these threads my vista runs like a champ.. Don't run vista on a old chip and a 1 gig of ram and expect it to run as good as the dual core, 4 gig rigs!
Let's make it once for all. Vista sux as XP used to be sux on the first year, in 2009 Vista might be better, that's it..
am not that sure at all........ Windows XP did not get straight before SP2...... Let us see how long vista will run awkward.... the user does not have the choice!!!! simply put, no choice..... when you need a notebook and ALL the notebooks in ALL the shops around are selling VISTA preloaded portables..... what choice do you still have ????? NONE!!! you are obliged to get VISTA ..... now look at the specs..... those portables mostly run with 1GB of ram ...... some of them have 2GB, but very many of them are still with 1GB of ram....... except if you tell me that a customer is supposed to upgrade his machine immediately after purchase.....
Microsoft is not happy with vista, they are spending like 200 million dollars to tell consumers that vista doesn't suck
I have no idea why people keep starting this same old lame thread but it's getting old already. Vista is the best OS microsoft has ever released, that's if you know what you're doing and you're not running some computer you fished out a dumpster.
My computer came with Vista Premium and I have yet to run into a single problem. I've always been a fan of Microsoft, so I also enjoyed using Windows XP. I think both operating systems are wonderful, but I definitely prefer Vista.
Shitty computer, shitty performance. Can't expect to run something new, big, and better with something small and weak.
Vista, to me, is just an advanced version of Windows XP. The design is more appealing and it has a number of new features. I know some people dislike Vista, but that's typically because they run into technical issues. I haven't run into any technical issues. In fact, everything has been working just as it should since I bought the software. Why would I want to use an old operating system when I can use a new, innovative operating system?
the issue was never simply the performance problem..... How do you enjoy almost on every click being asked to confirm your actions... ???
old computer, can't use new operating system. new computer, new operating system. It's a lot like life.. have up to upgrade daily but need the right equipment to do so. Rarely does that for me. Maybe get asked twice a day if at all. Not to mention you can disable that or tell the computer to always accept that program.
I agree... Vista is really clean on at least a dual core with at least 4 gigs and 8 virtual... otherwise it lagggggggggggggggssssss... Its better than XP all the way around if you have something relatively strong to support it..
I run Ubuntu on a Compaq laptop my dog+cat broke the screen on. Run it with an external monitor and it works perfect to generate thumbnails of sites submitted to my directories and upload them from my home network to my server. I can even run it with the monitor disconnected using SSH and Xvfb to capture screenshots. It can crank over 20K thumbnails in 24 hours. I also run OSX on my trusty G4 (it also runs OS8+OS9), XP on my HP Pavillion monster laptop but I'm really favouring my new Dell workstation with Vista. I've had zero problems with Vista and I use the workstation for music recording and mixing. I was amazed that all my music and video hardware and software had no problems with Vista. Plus, it works fantastic with my 24" widescreen monitor that can swivel horizontal or vertical (absolutely rules with vertical view when running Cubase). I wouldn't run Vista on the old workstations I have in the basement and in the garage but on an Intel Core2 Duo with 4GB Ram, Vista rocks.
Hardly, I loathe Vista's operating system beyond the physical limits of loathing. It is very power hungry, slow and does not work nearly as well as its predecessor XP. The interface is OK and thats just about it.
not I or anyone I know. Sure a few like the interface a touch it once using it, they realize the resource hog it is
