New Alternate Landing Page

I've figured out the php redirection stuff and created my first hosted landing page for affiliates to use. I think this could be a great tool for affiliates who don't want to bother with (or don't know how) to make a pre-sell landing page.

Basically all you have to do is add x=over to the end of your hop link.

    For example: http://YourClickbankID.dayoff.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=whatever&x=over

As you can see it actually takes you to an entirely different domain with an "overview" of my product. For PPC people this means you can link to this directly. For article marketers - you could buy a cheap domain at GoDaddy and redirect to it and have your own pre-sell landing page.

Although you can't really see it - the hop is put into the visitors computer. I actually think that's another advantage of this system. The links to my product now look very natural with no affiliate linkage at all. Why? Because the hop is already in there. You'll also see that when you click to the site there's no hop=whatever at the top. But if you click on ORDER and go to the bottom you'll see that the hop has indeed been captured!

This is just the first in a whole series of alternate landing pages I'm planning on creating, this one is sort of just a basic pre-sell page. I want to do keyword specific pages next as I think they could be a real key to increasing conversions (along with the overhaul of my sales-letter I'm working on now.)

    Check It Out.

    ---

Also, I'd really like to add a php script for capturing Google tracking codes as well. So affiliates can link like this:

    http://YourClickbankID.dayoff.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=whatever&x=over&g=123456789

Anyone that can help me out with that gets a free sale of my product (ie I'll use your CB code until you make a sale.) which basically means you get $31.

    ---

How's the product doing now? I'm not getting a huge amount of traffic but I've still managed to make at least one sale 9 days in a row. The conversions during that period have been about 110 uniques per sale. Not great, I know, but that is an improvement of where they were at, that's for sure. Almost all of that traffic is pre-sold. Again - I cannot stress enough how much I think linking directly to the salesletter is a bad idea. And now with my hosted pre-sell page there's definitely no reason to do it.

Hmm.... completely unrelated to the topic of this thread, but I'm probably going to start promoting you, as I just got into this niche a bit deeper (got a domain).

Probably won't use this though, lol. It's a brilliant idea though.

It's not the greatest landing page - as I just put it together in about 10 minutes. But the cool thing is I'm going to be testing it with my own hops to see how it works and I'll be tweaking it to improve it's conversions. That way I can create a whole chain (pre-sell landing to sales letter) that affiliates can use for high conversions. Then all they'll have to do is get the traffic (famous last words, eh?)

I'm planning on starting up a more aggressive PPC campaign (I'm normally more of a natural guy) so I can get some keyword info to give to affiliates as well.

lemonarian - I'd love to see you sending dayoff some hops! I will give a bonus $100 via PayPal on your 5th sale if you do decide to promote. All you have to do is PM me after your 5th sale with your CB nickname.

desilator - Yes, that (hiding the hops) is a cool feature. Not sure if it's important in this niche but it definitely can't hurt.

That is awesome, Zibs. Have you ever thought about possibly raising the affiliate commission, however? I know 60% is already a good bit, but with FL4I throwing out 75% I know from experience this is turning people off from promoting The Day Off Diet, which could definately be a huge seller no doubt.

The pay out is the same as 4Idiots - which averages $31 per sale overall ($26 for s sale and I believe $40 for their upsell.) I don't really understand the obsession over % when it's the payout that matters.

I have considered raising the % ... but $31 is a very good payout in the diet niche - most of the products higher in popularity on CB pay out less than $20.

For example Master Cleanse Secrets 10 Day Diet only pays out $17.89 (#3 in the diet niche.)

Eat Stop Eat pays out $19.89 (#6)

Acid Alkaline Diet pays out only $10! (#7)

    ---

So as you can see my payout of $31 compares quite favorably to some of the top products.

Plus I will be adding an up-sell as well which should raise payouts to over $40 in some instances.

So anyway I'm not saying that I definitely won't raise the %, but I'm not going to raise it at this moment, again, I just don't get the concern with % when it's the actual money that matters. I know that as an affiliate that many of the most profitable products I promote only pay out 50%. I don't care too much as long as the overall return is good.

    ---

Another example: Fitness Model pays out only 52% but that 52% payout is $100 so I've promoted it pretty aggressively (havent made a conversion yet with them though...)

Fair enough. I'm just starting to get my feet wet with PPC, but if my campaign is successful I may start a new one for The Day Off Diet. Did you tweak the salespage? I'm digging it.

If that offer is only good for lemonarian, It probably would have been best to not post it. Why would any affiliate promote for $31 dollars/sale when they know that you've effectively increased his pay to $51/sale.

Nothing personal, it's just an observation. It kind of leapt out at me when i read it and i suspect it would have that effect on others too.

If that's available to everyone then scratch what i said, and i may consider jumping into the weight-loss arena. At least for 5 sales :D

I missed that. That should have been a PM if that's only for Lemonarian for sure. Good way to piss off affiliates if it is indeed a special treatment for one guy.

    ;)

It's not just for lemon - I've made the same offer to others. BUT I can't really offer it to *everyone* without some added criteria as I've only got so much money available at the moment. What I can do it is make the offer available to anyone but with the following criteria: Bonus payment comes after 60 days (that's to make sure I don't get scammed by anyone and to make sure I have the funds available to pay everyone.) I'm spending a lot of money on advertising right now and on buying video spokes model and all of the improvements I'm trying to make so... and I'm also moving in August - so expenses are all around these days.

So yes - the offer is good for anyone reading this in DP - if you get to your 5th sale - PM me and I'll send you a $100 bonus via PayPal (sorry no other method is available) but only after the 60 day refund period is up.

You must also make your 5th sale by the end of September. I can't have someone making their 5th sale next June and messaging me for the bonus - that doesn't make much sense for me. I'm offering this bonus as I'm trying to jump start this thing and get more traffic coming in *now*!

And yes RTR - I'm tweaking the page a lot right now - but I still have some big plans for it I haven't got to yet (including adding a video spokes model)

And of course like I mentioned - I want to add keyword specific pre-landers for affiliates. My assumption is that will be a huge advantage... Maybe I'm wrong :) Can only find out by testing though. I'm determined to have the best conversion rates in the diet niche - and I will work at it until I do.

I don't have any numbers yet --- I think it depends on where someone is linking from - I mean if someone's already pre-sold then it might be over doing it sending to this page? But maybe not... Maybe it'd still increase sales.

I'm also working on creating some keyword focused salesletters ... As soon as I do one for the Lose Belly keyword - I'll send you the link for that and see if it helps... That will be interesting to see.
