Eh, it's a bad idea dating anyone online at all. No matter how long you talk to them or how well you think you know them, you really don't. They can act like really nice, believeable people, but in reality are basement dwelling douches. There are circumstances when people meet online then successfully start a real life relationship, but it's rare. :/

I think its a good idea, she obviously has an interest in website building/webmastering ( don't know if that's a real word ) so digital point is a good place to find people with similar interests.
Well I wouldn't really recommend looking on message boards for a boyfriend, though I know it happens. People can pretend to be anyone over the internet, please beware. If you don't have time to go out, there are legitimate online dating sites where you are less likely to find a creeper. Not that it won't happen, it's just less likely. Good luck though.
