Dedicated and VPS are expensive, but it all depends on what you need. A shared environment will do it depending on your host. Try BlueHost!
You need to tell us more about your requirements. Another thing you could do is look for reviews on the web for different host names. I could personally recommend you slhost.com, but then again I am not sure whether they'll manage to meet your expectations.
This is one of the questions that applies to shared or dedicated hosts. When I first shopped for a host I looked at many factors. There are support: what kind of support to they provide? Location: where are their servers located, do they own the data center or are they resellers in their own right? Control: What do they provide to you for controlling your domains or monitoring the servers? Connection: How wide is the bandwidth, and how many trunks are they connected to? Who do they connect through? Backups: What do they do for backup maintenance, how often and with what medium? Uptime: What do they do to maintain the servers so that the uptime is maximum? Software: What do they provide that are included in your server and what do you need to buy and install? Costs: How much will it cost for the configuration of your server? and Configuration: What is the processor, is it single or multiple, what is the hard drive, is it hot-swappable, what are the cooling procedures, and what is the operating system? When you make a list of things you want that you feel will meet your needs, you judge a good server host by who meets them. Check out my training program.
Hostgator is the best web host I have ever used. Their reseller package is little expensive but has #1 service.
Depends on what you need the hosting for. If your going for shared hosting, you will need a host that doesn't oversell and maintains their servers. If you want something such as a dedicated server or VPS, just look at the server specs, if they are good and the price is right then try it out for a month or so and see how you like it.
Always go for an establsihed company. I hv traded taken webhosting from two Dp members and they are cheaters. So look for an established one.
Make sure you check how long their domain has been bought for if your unsure on how long they've been operating.
