Adsense Is dead

To me it seems that adsense is dead. Nobody can make a living off these small earnings anymore. Gas itself is $5/gallon in America and people are still struggling to make $5 a day with adsense.... In my opinion people should switch over to affiliate marketing and make way more. What do you guys think?
ps: I switched from adsense( 2 years ago) to affiliate marketing and now I am making a great living.

well mabe to members from other countries it might still make a living but I know now $1=0.6 euro :( so I guess europeans and American's should give up on adsense and turn to affiliate marketing.

People are struggling to make more than $5/day because they don't have quality sites and/or don't know how to market their sites properly. People believe that thin sites with little content are still the way to go (or arcade/social network resource sites).

It's by no means dead - it's just that Google are smart and they've adjusted their per click payouts according to the quality of the site.

Redz--- I think adsense works great with information sites. In other words, not all sites are designed to sell a particular product, whereas virtually all sites monetized with affiliates are geared to only 1 thing- sales.

Would you agree? Would you say that adsense is the only real choice for some types of sites, or would you say that every site could earn more with affiliates?

P.S. I wish your signature about banking with affiliates led to a personal story of yours. I am much more interested in that than signing up for clickbooth again.

it may be true but they can invest some time and learn affiliate marketing and make way more with a landing page instead of $1/day with adsense.
google themselves may be thinking of starting their own affiliate program.
glenndorsey- the story about my experience etc is where my recent blog is, their is a link their.

Gotta disagree there, because unless you are running some shady credit card or financial service site, you'll get low end payouts with Adsense.

Google is pretty much all I can do to monetize my website. I don't have products to sell, it's a fansite for a television show. So $5 a day is better than $0 a day. :O

Sorry. I have to disagree. One of my friend earn $100-$150 ( around 70 clicks ) from adsense on daily basis. Content is the king. Placing more than one basket of eggs will lead to all of the baskets sliding off.

Agreed. You don't see sites with millions of hits a day offering services using adsense (usually). They use CPM and CPA.

He must have found a exclusive niche, but sooner or later that niche will be exploited and your friend will make $1.00-$5.00 for 70 clicks in my opinion, and that is your friend, 1 out of 1,000 people that are probably making that kind of amount right now, the rest is making chump change. I would have to say that each site would make more off affiliate program's then adsense in my opinion, all you need to do is work hard and have motivation like anything else in the online industry.

OMG! You mean those nice checks I get from Adsense every month are no good? Adsense is not dead but web sites are dead with Adsense that don't get traffic, don't provide quality content, don't use Adsense properly, and don't attract the kind of visitors who click on ads. Some sites are just not meant to be good Adsense sites.

I don't think it is dead, for me I can't survive on Adsense because I am a lousy webmaster, but for those web sites with strong traffic, they can still earn a lot from Adsense. It all depends on your abilities as a webmaster. DP was rumored to be earning tens of thousands from Adsense alone, so it can't be that bad.

I am not saying your adsense check are not good but because of the economy right now being in a recession and all in america I am saying that the low payouts for clicks with adsense will not help our citizens with their daily expenses that is why they should look for alternatives that can potentially pay a greater amount for the same amount of work effort.
wisdomtool- that is true sites with huge traffic coming in do survive on adsense but think about how much more they can be making with affiliate marketing. Look at some of the news sites ( I am from nyc) the daily news website and the new york post site both seem to use affiliate ads themselves and I bet you its paying off more then for them to use adsense, anyways thats not the point, the point i am making is that noobies of the internet industry who are trying to study the methods on how they can profit from adsense, can learn affiliate marketing and probably come out more successful and way more wealthier in the future. Just my opinion, I think google themselves knows that adsense was sort of a failed project with the amount of fraud they received on their end with clicks, etc, that is why you see them ending their adsense referral program and now rumor is going around that they are looking to get into the affiliate marketing scene (google it :D).

I will have more content posted soon, been to busy working :D, yes ppc but I am looking into email marketing as well.
ASMINDIA- In the past I had a few sites with great content but still no great revenue from adsense, I think with adsense its more about the niche then the content.
