i am new to press releases and news distribution, except i have some knowledge in writing press releases. I am planning to start a press release site.

Is it profitable? Where to start and ideas?
Any input or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks

It's highly profitable if you can get the customers. I'm going to start a similar site soon, and I have been told to
    - Try and build a portfolio, let the customers see what you can do.
    - Try and build a network going, where by your existing customers refer you
    - Seek work, don't just sit and wait for it to come to you.

If you plan to focus a specific niche, it could be easy to start with like Press release for Hosting/Technology/New Trends etc...

i've just started and launched my own low-cost ($9.99) press release distribution and creation company and am using Google adwords to get the word out. does anyone have any other suggestions on how to get this business off the ground?

we've already got a talented group of release writers (all have at least master's degrees) but i'm looking to build up a client list.

any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :)

Are you going to be writing press releases, or distributing them? If you're going to be writing them for others, the best advice I can give is to write everything as though you're writing it for a client. Typos are completely inexcusable when you're trying to get paid for your writing.

    hi justo,

Stef618, we're going to be writing releases too although our emphasis is on building as large an online distribution network as we can and including permanent backlinks to sites in our releases as well as relevant keywords. We'll keep our eyes out for typos though, I agree that it would be completely inexcusable to have any if you're being paid to write.

does anyone know other good distribution networks we can tap into? we're looking to expand our reach as far as possible while maintaining our low prices.

    Thanks!

Yes its still profitable to run business in this niche
You must buy a nice script and design your site as user friendly as possible
