Hey, I have been blogging about the motorsport drifting and now I have a desire to create something which will provide some extra moolah on the side. I wanted to know if drifting (which gets 40k searches a month) is a suitable niche. Their are around 15 great sites so my question is: Is that too much competition? Is it worth my time? Also my current blog (http://drift-underground.blogspot.com) runs on blogger - Is it worth my money to get a domain name, hosting, and transfer it to a Wordpress run one, bearing in mind my chosen niche? That sounds like a great niche, I don't think that's too much competition. Just do everything better than them.

If theres 15 other great sites, you "just" need to make yours a really great site, content really is king. Yes you should get your own domain, it costs very little these days and allows you to build a brand around your blog, hosting is relatively inexpensive for a blog. Go for it mate. Good Luck
