Is 1000 Unique Visitors per day a large target for someone to make for there first proper website? How can this be met? What methods, and how many hours per day would be required. Thanks, BlueEew.
Many factors. How popular is the site topic or theme? How much competition do you have? How many quality back links do you have? How good and interesting is your content. Is it well written and not full of misspellings and bad grammar? How many pages? The more the better. How long has your site been online? All these factors and more play a role on how successful your site will be. If you have killer site rankings and have a topic that gets a huge number of search queries every day it’s very possible. Check out how popular your topics search queries are before you design your site. Lets say your site is about the mating of the Kirtland Warbler songbird. You find out how many related search queries there are every day on this topic. I haven’t investigated but I doubt you would get 1000 unique visitor’s per month on this subject even if you ranked number 1 on Google and Yahoo. On the other hand if your site is about Britney Spears and you ranked #1 in Google and Yahoo 1000 visitors per day might be very possible. It would likely take mucho work to get your ranking that high on such a topic. What I do is find topics that get a decent number of search queries but have little to mediocre competition. I use different tools to research this information. I would share them with everybody but I don’t want to get accused of spam. I haven’t thoroughly read all the rules here yet. You can find lots of free info and tools and I use some of them. I mainly use one tool that does most of the research for me. I paid for it though. Hope it helps, Herman
Google as 86,500,000 results of the Niche. Lots. However. As my Niche is fan based. A lot of the websites owners do not understand full concepts of building websites and SEO. So it should not be too hard I guess. This is what information I need. As it's fan based mainly. Would affiliating AKA link swapping with many of the high PR sites be a good thing? I tend to have unique, properly written, and interesting content. It will be yes. There will be easily over 1,500 to start with. We will grow as more new projects come which require new content. The concept as been here for over two years. However it as not been properly launched yet. So new. Can people direct me into tools and information on rankings, and various other needed information please?
it took me 3 years to hit 300 uniques per day .. on a niche website though... which means that the CTR is quite high. good luck with it. let us know how it works out for you!!
Google AdWords not AdSense is a free place to figure out how many search queries are being performed. You have to have an account last I knew it was free. Spyfu is another good free site with good info. I signed up for the 4 day upgraded membership and it didn't really show more info than the free version. I don't recommend paying for the service as the free stuff works good. They tell you how many search queries are being made and how much your competition etc. pays for AdWords clicks. There is a tool that scours Google for this information and I think is very useful. It lets you know all kinds of keyword phrases, how strong your competition is, how much they pay for clicks and has all kinds of useful features. Google does not care for the tool and you might get temporarily kicked off the Google search engine for a few hours but so far nothing negative beyond this has happened to me for using it. To my knowledge it's not against Google rules to use this tool. It can be annoying because you have to keep typing in those little bot prevention codes too. Over all it's a useful tool. I don't use it every day, just when I need to find some niche phrases, keywords or looking for new high paying niches etc. I will go look at the rules before I get myself in trouble. If it's cool to post links to these tools I will do so. Peace, Herman
In my opinion, the best way to get 1000 unique visitors a day is organic traffic from Google. Use this tool: http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/index.php to see how many searches per day to expect for your keywords. In my experience, if you can get in the top 3 of google for those keywords, you will get at least that estimated amount of visitors. It will take you a few months to see these results, but it really is the best way to go. Build links through directory offers here on DP and/or pay someone to submit to directories, blogs, etc. Always be building links..if the links are on sites relevant to your niche, all the better.
1000 visitors / day is quite easy. 1000 returning visitors is a bit harder. All you need is a lot of indexed pages in Google and a decent quality site.
Wow, you really need to research. It will help but not major. You need strong one way links to cut through mega competition.
I have been looking through DP for over a year now. I must say I have lots of knowledge. However I thought I would get some advise before I actually start my first project.
Would this do me good for example: 500 Valuble Links (Link Exchange). & 500 Valuble Links (One Way). Providing they all have PR, and are related to my website?
If it were me, I wouldn't wast the time with the link exchanges. They're a pain in the ass, and you don't get as much out of them as one way links. There are people here on DP that will do 500+ link submissions to directories and blogs for not that much money ($20-$30). Hire someone to do this for you so you can focus on your site. Use different people here to submit your site so you get links all over the place, in varying directories. Next thing you know, in a few months you have several thousand backlinks, and it only cost you a hundred bucks. Also, you can get good links and traffic by writing and submitting relevant articles to places like www.ezinearticles.com. Do these things, and you will get good search engine rankings and traffic.
I intend doing all these myself. However. With the link exchanges. As my Niche is more fan based then profitable, all the websites that have the same Niche as me have pages asking to swap links. Is this still useless? Edit: Also I just checked. The number one ranked which is also the official website of my Niche as nearlly 90,000 back links. Where the second ranked website is a Wikipedia Page and it only as just over 1,300 back links. Then the most popular fan site (unofficial) is seventh on Google, and as just over 276,800 back links. In theory it should rank first. However it doesn't because it lacks design, and it as no SEO. The links to it are Keywording it's name (site name) rather then the main keyword. So would be theory be right why it isn't ranked number one? The fourth ranking is a YouTube video with just over 1,000 back links.
Not all links are equal thats why. A link from a PR8 site is probably going to pass way more juice than a link from PR1 site. Then there is the PR ranking of the actual site getting ranked. Back links aren't the only factor when it comes to Google SE rank. Don't forget it's likely you aren't getting the full story about your competitions back links either. Where did you check them? Peace, Herman
My suggestion from what I am reading is that you seem to be looking at the most compedative, high volume term in your niche and thinking what it will take to rank for that term. If this is your first website, I would not target a term with 86,500,000 competing entries and top players with 90K+ links. What you need to do is some keyword research to find less compeditive terms relating to your niche that still bring some volume and target them. Also, just jump in and do things. You have 1800 posts and good rep and havn't done a website yet? That's pretty impressive but the best learning curve is trial and error. Hope that helps.
