this are the excerts from a news paper

Spamming is serious criminal conduct; this is not a teenager engaging in child's play," U.S. District Judge Denny Chin told Vitale as he sentenced him. Vitale earlier apologized and said he had learned a lesson.

A Brooklyn man was sentenced to 30 months in prison on Tuesday for sending spam e-mails to more than 1.2 million subscribers of America Online in a scheme that foiled the Internet company's spam-filtering system.

this is wat a happy news for me. . spammers suck . .

Spamming is an illegal offence, so if you are prepared to do it then also be prepared to go to prison!

That will serve as a warning to spammers that they could go to jail for what they are doing.

You all guys are talking about spamming as a crime ! But do you know what "spamming" means ? It doesn't mean that someone is posting here his links or smth else .. spamming is when you use stolen data ( e-mail ) and send unauthorized messages ! Or maybe you think it's something different from what I said ? :p

Not all countries have framed laws against the "dirty spammers". When the laws are clear and strict, we can expect a lull in spamming.

    Vitale ey....it wasn't Joe Vitale was it ? ;)

My friend a Network Admin received some dirty filthy rotten spam once....it just pissed him off. You know when you are having one of THOSE days and some new spam is just the final straw! So somehow he hacked into the guys system and found thousands upon thousands of email addresses.

So he hit delete. The emails? No.....everything. Rough Justice :)

I would think that people would focus on people downloading music, movies, etc. And not people sending a few emails that people can simply delete.

Good for him. I am wondering if some knows a news that a non US guy arrested for spamming. I mean for sure there are so many spammers outside the US. Are they can be arrested too?
