I want to register a domain name for my blog. I have decided my name and its available.:)
What are the procedures for registering a domain name?
I don't know anything, please explain it.
And which site provides cheap domain names?
i heard names.com and godaddy.com is providing cheap registration.
I am hosting my blog in blogger itself.

If you are creating a blog in blogger there is no need to register a domain name.

    otherwise

domain names can be registered with domain registrars like namecheap, godaddy, moniker, name etc.,

there are discount codes available. look in the sub-forums.

domain names can be registered for one year or more with whois privacy or not.
See the respective websites for more info.

as chenzen mentioned, you might want to visit namecheap, godaddy and other such registrars.
search the discount codes of google and use them to avail discount.
Just follow the procedure as it comes up :)
Once the payment is realised, you will get your login information via your email. :)

Log on to your account once you receive the email, get the nameserver link of your hosting, something like ns1.______.com, ns2.________.com and feed it to your domain

update the details and thats it you're done :)

During the domain reg. process, you're asked for your personal identifications. Your name, Initials, Address, Company Name (whatever applicable).

Once you are through with it all and you receive your login id, you can check your ownership details through a "WHOIS LOOKUP"

You can make a prinout of it :)

It is actually Name.com, not Names.com

    Names.com redirects to Historicalresearchcenter.net ;)

No problem, there's always a first time:)

Its something like ns1.youhostname.com <<< this is given to by your webhost, or alternatively you can see it from the hosting panel.
