If user is logged in I can store user id with searched item id. But I will I achieve it if user is not logged in. (I guess the cookie will work). Can anyone help me and suggest some CODE
Hi slimbachiya, I am looking for a similar functionality for my Intranet. What search engine are you using and on what platform. I am looking for a open source / free search engine option. I need for it to index documents like docs, pdf, ppts (must); audio and video meta-data like playtime, title, artist (secondary); and it has to interface with MySQL and also search the existing tables for keywords. with regards your query, to me it doesn't make sense to save links for unregistered/ logged-out users. Maybe you could ask the user to login if he tries saving a link while not logged in. I have never seen an implementation of any user customisable utility which allowed unregistered/logged-off users to save searches. Yes, if you really need to, then cookies are a good option. Let me know how you proceed.
