are blogs,PR,directories,etc part of SEO

    I want to know that only keywords are effective for the SEO or any other material that SEO can use to improve ranking.for example can i use newsletters, blogs, press releases for higher ranking ,if yes than plz tell me what are others.because i have very few knowledge about this

    Yes there are many on page and off page factors which are all apart of SEO.

    These do include, pagerank which is effected by the number of backlinks and strength of the backlinks. Web directories and many other factors.

    There are loads of factors which have an effect on SEO

    On page:
    Meta tags (description mainly, keywords too)
    Title tags
    keyword in url
    keywords in domain name
    Keywords in content
    HTML validation (not really important but good to have)
    Sitemaps

    Then you have link building a large importance in SEO this can be done through so many different ways.
    Directories, blog commenting, guest article posting, article submission sites...

    Read blogs, forums and anywhere else you can to learn about SEO
