I have a question regarding Text Links & Banner Ads

Hi all,

I have a question that if I put a text link on my site google will treat that link as a backlink to the target site.

But if I put a Banner Ad on my site, will google treat that as a backlink too?

Or google doesn't pay attention to banner ads and not treating them as backlinks?

Can you please clarify me about this?

If you link to another website without using rel="nofollow", it counts as a backlink in Google. It doesn't matter if the image is a link or it's simply a hyperlink.

 

It some times confuses that how Google-BOT treats a web-page. The best way to check that how google-bot will see your page is check your page in any text browser. I use Lynx (recommended by google).

Once I was confused whether all the links in my page are valid for Google but I was surprised to see that links on <div> tag were not working in lynx.

If there is alt tag and hyper-link available on image than it will be followed by SE's web-bots other wise not.

 

unless you add nofollow tag, or some redirection through scripting, google will treat this image/banner as normal link back to the target site.

I think google will consider Banner Ad just as a normal links.

 

If you put a good description with dofollow on your banner, google still see it and will consider it a back link..
