I beleive he is referring to Viral Marketing - In which it is very much alive - take for example social bookmarking - Its viral, and continues to go extremely strong - Look at what type of visitors your targeting, for example - United states - the weekend is a great time to post a viral campaign, and nightly after 5pm. On the other hand, another country - make sure you target the specific days/times once again in their time zone

Monday-Thursday will get you lot of traffic. But the converting traffic is mostly on Friday-Sunday (My own experience). I hope the people who have big bucks in their pocket take time to look at more sites only at weekends as they are sticked with their job/business all the weekdays.
Quite true. Still, many people are out on Friday night and the weekends so it slightly dampens the effect.
"today" It's more about doing these campaigns over and over... day of week isn't necessarily the key factor.
the whole point to viral is that it will fly of its own accord any day of the week... this said there are times when people are more likely to surf youtube and other sites. if you have an initial seed list then yes Friday afternoon between 2 and 4pm.
Thanks for the feedback. It can be posted as an excerpt or in full as long as there's a link back to the site. Anyone have or know of an appropriate blog that might be interested?
