Adsense Graphic Ads - More effective?

Noticed alot of my ads in skyscraper format are not being displayed as graphics. Does anyone know whether graphic ads are more effective then text ads?

I really hope that animated gifs won't be used in the future for the graphics!

I never got an images ads on my site although I choose to display an image and text ads on my site. So I really can't give any comments on this. I really hope to see google image ads on my site because I believe it will perform better

I've never gotten any images ads either.

could it be that they're not showing because they're not performing well?

You won't, because Google does not allow animated images for banners.

I don't think it's about your site performing well (I know mine don't). Perhaps it's because I use skyscraper ads.

As for the animated gifs - phew. Fingers crossed they don't introduce them - soooo 1999 style.

not the SITE performing well, but the ad performing well.

if you make a text ad that no one clicks on, it'll stop being rotated in. I'm assuming this is the same with the image ads.

I think it's still in Beta. Someone saw the ad on my site and commented to say why I was "offering free windows hosting with linux". Personally I don't know what the problem was, but I guess the ad was wrong...can't seem to find the ad now..
