Have you had more business on DP recently?

I'm just wondering if anyone here has picked up more writing jobs, due to the amount of writers being banned under the new rules not being around??
I personally have noticed a very slight difference in the amount of replies to threads, but haven't experienced it first hand, so was wondering if any of you have?

I just began "hanging around" here at DP so I wasn't aware that there were new rules in effect. Are these posted in a particular spot so I could review them? I had read some rules in various spots here but I'm not sure if I've read the ones you refer to.

    Yep. We're gettin' tough. :D

I haven't noticed a workload difference specifically through this forum (off of it, it's increased, but for a bit longer than these bans have been in effect). I don't generally get work through the job postings here though.

Jenn is trying to kill the competition through power. ;)

As to the question, no clue as I don't use DP to get writing business.

Now now... there are only a handful of folks here I actually consider competition, and I haven't had to ban any of them. :p If I did, you'd probably top the list. ;) j/k

None. It's not about finding job listings. It's about building a network for referrals, making yourself more visible (blogging, forums, articles, etc.) so prospective clients can find you on their own, and directly querying companies that don't yet know they need your services.

Networking is indeed a way to gain exposure as a writer or expert in any given field and, if you learn how to conduct efficiently your self-marketing campaign, people interested on hiring your services will usually get in touch with you.

I am 4 months old here at DP, Entire May and June months kept my hands pretty busy. July has been really annoying and I had 3 buyers that scammed me, and although I am in need of work I grew more apprehensive so not really bidding for any work.

I still freak around copywriting forum because the tips I get here are invaluable. :)

A veteran (I meant Jenn) feeling heat of competition from baby writers? How can anyone believe this? ;)

Well because of new rules we seen many people were banned but almost 70% of them are newbie and have less then 50 posts. It surly make changes in terms of reply but I haven't noticed a workload difference yet.

I'm more interested to know how many people are either losing work or clients. Better yet, let's see how the marketplace shapes up when people start coming off of these bans. :)

Well I guess it doen't make changes lot more since expert writers prefer to PM for job rather then making post or start sales thread!

I had momentary heart skip thinking I might be banned and not know it. <grin> I've not seen much of a change in work from here yet. A lot of my work is from local clients, about 60%.

I was swamped and turning jobs down before July vacation. It's slowed to a trickle right now. I had a huge job that was supposed to start this week and did all the meetings and we were ready to roll and the CEO fired the brand manager which put a halt to the project. I had planned light to make room for it and thankful I did not move everything. Experience helped me make that decision.

So I'm just working in appointments with other business owners to network this week and next to take advantage of a rare break. I figure I'd make the most of it and go for the clients I have been really wanting to do work for.
