I applied for Chitika but I was rejected for reasons I don't understand. Have you been rejected by Chitika? Did you reapply or you just forget about it?
A country should not be an issue regarding application. Websites have no borders. Friendster is based in the U.S., but its users are from Asia. A website can be based in Antartica, but the traffic comes from the U.S. and Canada.
Chitika only runs their ads for users in a few countries - not sure if that makes much of a difference to where your site is located though.
We run a website rich with content that receives over 5 million hits. It's of social networking nature. Chikita rejected us. We do CPA and PPC successfully. We also have paid advertisers and make money off from upgraded accounts. Yes millions of hits. And yes they rejected us lol... To this day I laugh whenever I stumble upon a website made by a 14 year old child monetizing with chikita... My opinion... roll your eyes and move on. Try again later if you'd like... But Azoogle and Commission Junction have been great. Heck, Azoogle calls me and I couldn't even get an email reply from Chikita.
Maybe you should call Amnesty International about it ? FYI, any affiliate program can choose not to do business with any country they choose. It doesn't matter where your webpages are served from, it matters where the payment is going to. Maybe websites don't have borders but countries certainly do. Last time I checked there wasn't one world government, so possibly if Chitika is based in the US and the US government has restrictions on doing business with certain countries, it mightbe in Chitika's best interest to compy with those laws.
Hey everyone - just want to jump in and clear this up. We recently changed this. Now that we can advertise for pretty much any content (we used to work for product sites only), there are a lot of publishers who our ads will work really well on now so anyone can reapply. Hey Bohol - what were the reasons given? Let me know and show me your site, and I'll gladly try to explain better. NetStar - did this happen a while ago (by that - I mean previous to May)? Before May, our ads would have done HORRIBLE on social networking sites, so we probably rejected you because of that (we don't like wasting your time if we know that we won't perform well for you). Lots has changed though, and anyone that has a significant amount of US search traffic should be able to do very well with our ads - regardless of your content. You seem happy with your current advertisers, but if you do want to give us a try, I will gladly approve your application. We actually accept people from any country - however we can only monetize traffic coming from these countries: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, UK, US
Hello Chitika Advisor, you may check this webhosting site blog, which I used in applying for Chitika.
Hey Bohol - site looks good to me - approving it now. You should get a mail shortly. Is this a site that you applied with a while back? I can't see why our approvals team would have denied you recently Also - how much US search engine traffic do you get? Our ads really excel on sites with a high amount of US search traffic. (i.e. - if you do not have a lot of this type of traffic, our ads probably won't work too well for you).
I am from sriLanka and i got approved in the 2 nd week of my blog. I never put the ads since i am getting a good revenue from adsense and I do not want to put too much advertising in my blog. And the stories i heard about them is not too good.
You are so right. I dunno why some companies ask for publisher's country's name instead of asking where the traffic comes from.
Exactly. You can have a website based in Baghdad but your traffic comes from the U.S. Your country of origin has no bearing of Internet traffic.
