does Google treat static sites that are made from wordpress diffenently than html?

I hear that google likes blogs that are updated often

What I am wondering, if I want to set up a completely static website using wordpress, will google penalize it because they will think it is a blog that doesn't get updated, or will they treat it exactly the same as if I coded it in html as a standalone static site?

maybe it is not true that google likes lots of updates anyways, it would be prejudicing against some older yet very relevant scholarly articles that haven't been touched in years

google wont penalize anything unless you do something wrong.

& it will be treated as HTML like anything else.

Google just sees straight HTML just like any site...just make sure that whenever you use wordpress or the line that the links are SE friendly and you should be right.

    Cheers

geez...why would google interpret an extremely popular blogging platofrm differently? if the question is will you be penalized? then the answer is no. If the question is based upon google's algo and how they look at different content types....then get a crystal ball and start praying because no-one really knows for sure.

But then again you knew that didnt you...

The only difference I can think of is that Google will try to log into wp-admin/ and will try to run all sorts of ?=dynamic_urls if you leave a link out once and don't block them in robots.txt

someone was theorizing that google might work on parts of their algorithm to figure out that something is a blog and then discount any links that they find in the comment section, and the same theory would go for forums too, that the algorithm would figure out what a signature is and give no value to signature links

I hope they don't do that but it is always possible that google might do something like that
