How many backlinks have you got and whats the best way of getting them?

    Do you think link exchange is still important for seo? How many of you success result from link exchange? Currently I am focusing only oneway link.

    Getting backlinks is not a problem for me since I am a member of five forums and have been active in all of them and have 50 articles approved in ezine. I do submit to various directories and get links from related niches :)

    the only link exchanges we have are with sites that are directly related to ours they are all good friends.

    I think link exchange is important. All the seo experts say that link building gives your site some credibility in Big G's eyes because other sites are linking to yours and in a way recommending it. - Don't quote me. this is what i have read and interpreted.

    usually as you told i too have many friends and asking them to link me is not en problem. You must find blogs and sites matching your niche and section.

    This is defiantly a great way to get backlinks, but how long does it take for search engines to identify your posts and turn your signature links into backlinks...? Because I was a part of a forum with about 4000 posts and it has the link to my site and yet I don't think they have been indexed and/ or counted as backlinks.

    Low pr forums posts take months to be indexed in SE's. Structure of forum's pages can be another factor involved.
